If you can't get a 2nd Round QB on the field, you definitely deserve some blame as a Coaching Staff. If the 2nd Round QB you selected does not actually belong in the 2nd Round, you definitely deserve some blame as a GM and scouts. Hack himself clearly needed to play better too. I think, unfortunately, Hackenberg was a combination of all 3.
    1. The Player was not good enough.
    2. The Coaches did not help him get better.
    3. He was drafted too high by the team.

Unofficial poll: whose your Gruden Grinder?

Christian Hackenberg for that one TD pass he threw in the preseason once.

    OR

Vernon Gholston for his "hellacious" roughing the passer / sack against David Carr with the Giants in the preseason.

PS ten free likes to anyone who can turn up a video of that Gholston hit.

I’m thinking they had the deal about done and held him out for that reason.
Either way, at least mac was able to admit it was a bad pick and move in. No sense throwing good money at bad

Remember Gruden was sure Hack was going to be drafted in the first round. He probably thinks he got a steal.

well on the bright side, we got something in return and it probably means teddys knee is looking good. If mccown retires for 2019, maybe we can keep teddy around to backup darnold

Thank you Gruden for being dumb enough to give up any draft pick for this training camp fodder.

If this isn’t proof positive that the Qb talent pool is extremely shallow then there is no proof at all

Another wasted high draft pick on a QB. We need Darnold to hit so we can stop killing this team's development.

Hack's favourite food is going to be some tasty Spider-y bananas.

11 years of 2nd round draft picks & all we have to show for it is Marcus Maye & a soon to be released Devin Smith.

Amazing. Dart throwing would have had more success.

  15. I dont care how bad he looked in practice..short of him not knowing the playbook or the like there is absolutely no suitable excuse for him not seeing a single snap for 3 years. Dont care how bad he was.He was a 2nd round pick & had made some improvements. If he stinks let the kid fall on his sword.Historically embarassing.

Was Bowles really gonna lose the locker room if he played the guy even for a series in week 16 or 17?Of course not. Players arent stupid.Guy was a 2nd round pick..team isnt contending for a playoff spot..give the guy his shot for the world to see. There was simply no reason not to. Bowles & his staff come across as stubborn & jaded. If it were a DB taken in round 2 stinking up the joint you can bet your ass hed still be seeing snaps..that much is for certain

Mac's trying to purge the roster of all of his second round mistakes, just traded Devin Smith to the Broncos for one of Von Miller's Dancing With the Stars costumes.

The best development here is that Teddy B is healthy so no reason to hang onto Hack any longer.
