Would love to see it go to a Game 7. Two best teams in the East battling it out. Backstrom def isn't why they lost, but he def wouldn't hurt to have back on that second line. The Lightning have tremendous depth so the more players the Caps have available, the better. I go for the Lightning since I am down here in Tampa, so for me I'd like to see him sit out the rest of the series. Can't wait till tomorrow!
Haha yeah, should be intense! I can't think past the next game though or I freak out! Tampa is really good though and I am disappointed the Caps didn't come out with more energy last night. On the other hand, hats off to Tampa for stepping up after losing the first 2.
Most teams in a hole like that, just die out but they have tons of experience and this is a business mission to them. Its raising that Stanley Cup or the season is a complete failure. Nothing less. Lets hope they come out with that same intensity tomorrow night because the Caps are going to come out flying.
Incredible game by Fleury. Winnipeg absolutely dominated the third period but just couldn’t beat him.
Tonight felt like one of those classic Rangers-Capitals playoff games. The Caps dominate, have many shots on goal, but a couple key mistakes and amazing goalie play (Back then Lundqvist, tonight Vasilevsky) cost them the win. Series tied 2-2, but it feels like the Caps are in a big hole after blowing a 2-0 series lead. I still have faith, but it will not be easy going back to Tampa!
What a game! Going to be tough for you guys coming into Tampa tomorrow night. Huge momentum shift. You guys have to figure out your power play situation. Not capitalizing on three first period opportunities isn't good. Really looking forward to tomorrow.
This is for matt. A painting of my friend's. Yep, huge Rangers fan. As in a maniac. Rangers vs. Flyers 2009.
I think so too. Games like last night would ruin Caps teams of the past. We will see if this team is different or not. Tough to play that good, a chance to go up 3-1, and instead lose and end up 2-2 and lose home ice advantage. It's never easy for the Caps!
Thanks @joe. Yes, the Capitals did lose. Series tied 2-2 though. And it is the Eastern Conference Finals. Pretty awesome!
Going to be in Vegas Tuesday night. As much as I am not a big fan of New York, New York, I booked a room since it is right next to the stadium so I can watch the game outside the stadium. At the worst I luck into a ticket.
It would be just my luck that Vegas wins in 5. I was there in February on a Tuesday and Wednesday; Isles were in town Thursday.
Somehow the expansion Vegas Golden Knights are ONE win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. Wow. Remember I picked the Kings to beat them Round 1............. Then the Sharks to in Round 2. Then the Jets to in the WCF. They just keep finding ways to win. Hard to explain, but they are showing the world how hockey is truly a team sport. Hats off to them.
It’s pretty obvious George McPhee knows how to build a winning roster. He did it with Caps and now he has done it with Knights. Good for them, if Caps don’t make it I will be rooting for Knights. I want Ledecki to see what a real GM does, hopefully it will motivate the islanders ownership to get rid of a GM who’s been on the job for 12 years with nothing to show for it but bad contracts and mediocre players.
