Jets also signed Neville Hewitt from Miami who has starter experience. The other ILB the Jets signed is Kevin Pierre-Louis who fits the mold of Williamson / Davis. Hewitt will likely be Lee's backup. If the Jets sign Vaccaro, it is for his versatility. Will be given situational play time, unless injuries. Also would be surprised if Terrence Brooks isn't seeing playing time at center fielder considering some of the success he had last year.
I am all for moving Lee to the outside which is where I feel he fits due to his speed. Hopefully Kevin or Neville can end up taking his spot so he can shift over.
Vaccaro would be a great addition. It will allow the Jets to utilize three safeties and change up fronts, allow more blitzing etc. It would be a great addition at the right price. He is not at all like the Honey Badger but it would allow Bowles to run defenses he used when he had the Honey Badger. If you look at the linebackers they signed they are quicker and younger. I have a feeling we'll see creative blitzes becasue we can't get pressure off the edge.
Only issue I think we are going to run into, is his willingness to not be a starter in the sense of the word. He would probably be on the field a ton, but there will def be times he is on the bench with Adams and Maye out there. Can he live with this? Would he choose us over a team that may have a starting spot for him?
Lee was drafted to be our Deone Bucannon. It hasn't exactly been a success so far, but I don't see Bowles abandoning the idea.
I agree with you. I think he will go to Indy or Miami because of playing time. Maybe the Jets offer more and he accepts that. Guess we'll see in the next few days.
