Okay. Can you see ads right now or no?

If you can’t and you have an adblocker on your browser you will see your adblocker icon on top right corner. All you need to do is click on the adblocker icon and select “Disable adblocker” option while browsing our message board.

Let me know if this solves the issue. Thanks again for your consideration.

So I turn off AdBlock Plus (which is free) and the first ad is for a site that blocks ads for $119.

Lol. Ads that show up on your screen are based on your browsing history. :)

I just clicked on something about getting flirted on by flirty women. I am using the wife's Chromebook, will she start getting flirted on by flirty women?

It's Google ads, isn't it? I have gotten so many random ads from it that it can't be based on browsing history.

It's more based on what they are trying to get you to look at. I've had home decor, second hand shopping sites and Russian mail order brides show up as the primary choices, and none of them ever actually show up in my browsing history.

If you want ad blocker turned off, improve the ads.

I have a problem. When I turned off my ad-blocker, I began to experience a marked slow down of the site. scrolling took forever, typing consisted of no letters appearing on the screen for 5 seconds and then they would all appear at once, and frequent page crashes. I tried clearing browsing data but that didn't help. When I restored the ad-blocker, the problems went away. If someone has a suggestion to rectify this problem, I'll try it, but for now unfortunately, the ad-blocker has to be activated. I'll try a different browser and see if that helps.

This site is the reason I installed ad blocker. I tried to let Petro know about the issues with the ads on a few occasions, but eventually gave up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last time I complained on this thread Brook told me I need to stop being negative and deleted my post.

My bad. I really didn't know. I thought you were just being an ass on this. I went back and tried to Undo the deleting but didn't work. My true apologies.

If everyone donated $10, I am sure that would help immensely. This has been my home since 2010 and I am more than happy to help keep it running.

I experienced the exact same problems as you. I didn't mind the ads, but once everything started freezing up and making a reply took forever I started using an ad blocker.

I use Chrome to access TGG. I didn't know this before, but I've discovered that my ad blocker was a function of my on-line security software (Kaspersky.) In the upper right hand corner on my browser is a Kaspersky logo. I clicked on that and saw there was an option to block or unblock banners. I guess the default is "block," so I clicked on "unblock" and everything seems to be okay now. I can see ad banners and so far, I don't get the massive slowdown I got before when I tried to disable the ad blocker.

Thanks guys. I don't spend any money for this board. Everything is paid for by @Petrozza . In the past the site didn't need any support since ads would bring in enough money to keep the site afloat. And Petro was nice enough to do NFL reward games and provide gifts to winners. Now the ad money is diminishing due to extensive use of ad blockers. That said, if Petro needs more money to to keep the site afloat it will fall on admins and moderators. We will let you know if we ever need any financial help. But again thank you very much for willing to pitch in.

I have always had ads enabled. But, they are always very random and look like spam. *Update* I am on chrome now and I'm seeing Best Buy ads. On Safari it was random ads for creating websites and buying some random granola.

On a side note, several months back this site was practically unvisitable on safari from my iPhone. Within 30 seconds of being in a thread I would get re-directed to random "you just won a free phone or MacBook pro"/facebook pop-sites. It has been a lot better recently and I can actually visit the site on my phone.

I would also be willing to donate $10 if a lot people are on board.
