In my humble opinion if Teddy plays well enough to gain a 1st or 2nd but doesn't gain us a post season appearence and if Darnold shows enough promise you absolutely go for it. If Teddy plays lights out and brings us to the playoffs you in no way let the kid go. Darnold is young and can only grow from being given time to learn. Either way Bridgewater is a giant question mark and we'd be foolish not to give him a chance(if healthy of course).
Is Teddy even going to be healthy enough to pay? If so, I think he can definitely be the guy. But I was under the impression he’s a long shot to even play extensively this season. Hope he can do it. Even if it just means he moves on and has a successful career elsewhere.
When you say hilarious. Are you saying it in that LMAO ROTF LOLOLOLOL hilarious. Or that sad pathetic kind of hilarious.
Being out there and throwing doesn't mean they are participating in OTAs, or at least the important parts: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...y-bridgewater-will-fully-participate-at-otas/
whether or not its feasible is certainly a question but I will say in an ideal world Bridgewater would start all 16 games and excel for our Jets. Then we could sign/trade him and move onto Darnold in 2019 or 2020. but the world ain't usually ideal. And it absolutely isn't when we are talking Jets Quarterbacks. He will probably never play a down here. Maybe he ends up on the PUP list just so they can keep hack in the building for a little while longer or maybe he's cut so they don't have to guarantee his salary. Idk. I am rooting for Bridgewater though, he is a damn good person.
Why does everyone want teddy to look good and trade him for a draft pick. I want him to be healthy and look good so we have 2 good young QBs going forward. Didn’t we learn anything from watching the eagles last year? U need 2 qbs in this league. We trade teddy who’s gonna backup darnold in 2019. Another washed up veteran? Why not teddy. Going forward qb position solved for years to come. My wish is for teddy to start and play ttill we are out of playoff contention and darnold take over. Next year darnold beats out teddy but both look good
The amount of Teddy threads that all say the same thing are getting a little absurd. I can't even remember which I've posted in and what I've said.
I'm totally fine with your suggestion, problem is that he only signed a 1 year deal. That makes the following year quite tricky. -If he's good he will ask for a lot of money. That's why people are saying sign&trade. -If he's just OK and Darnold takes over he's probably not gonna wanna resign. I don't think he's ready to declare himself a career backup yet. -if he sucks or is too hurt they won't resign him.
That would be great..! The New Kid who can play like Carson Wentz and a backup who is as good as Nick Foles.. ?? Maybe the former can happen...but the latter is wishful thinking at this point.. Make it happen Teddy!!!
I did not see any posts regarding what I said. Meanwhile u could have added your opinion unless u forgot what it was

Right, which is why all of the cap space everyone wants the Jets to use next year makes it less likely that the Jets will get anything even if Teddy plays well. The $500K guarantee was great for the Jets, the one-year contract without a team option was great for Teddy, and both show that Macc had pretty low expectations on him when he signed him.
