I will be honest, I do not love Todd Bowles as our coach either, but you have to realize that this guy has had Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick as his QBs. To think that, that doesn't matter...you have to look at his situation with a little more perspective. Good Qb play will make an average coach a good coach. Great QB play will make an average coach great...you catch my drift. If Darnold comes in here and plays like a FQB, there won't be anymore talk of Todd Bowles being terrible. I mean Jesus, Peyton Manning took Jim Caldwell to the SB.
Bowles has his flaws but he has done good things with terrible QB situations. The next year or two will really tell the tale for both he and Bates. Both have done very good things in the past (Bowles AZ defense and Bates work with Cutler) and now they both have a very talented, very young QB to get ready for the NFL. Its going to be interesting to watch play out, and hopfully exciting for Jets fans for a very long time.
All I am doing is comparing him to the best HC in our division & based on that TB is a 1 vs the best being 10 which means we will not be a quality team until he is removed as just like Rex before him he has outlived his time as HC of the NYJs
I'm not sure we ever had a chance nor considered the two coaches you mentioned. TB is going to have to show something big this year. Both he and the DC should be on a short leash. The blame it on poor drafting BS is wearing thin. He has not elevated the talent of the team with good coaching one bit. We have not really shined in any aspect with this team.
The comparison is moot though. Belichick struggled in Cleveland. Didn't have a QB. Goes to New England and early on...struggled. When he got his Hall of Fame and likely greatest QB of all time...yeah...he is a 10.
Actually I think it is the other way around. To my way of thinking FB is like war & the biggest, strongest, smartest win the war so tell which of those talents do you think Bowles has? Also just because U do not agree my position does not mean that U R right & I am wrong
Your logic leading to and the delivery of your position is so flawed it negates that you may be right.
So you clearly didn't read my post. Rex had terrible QB play. Bowles has had average to below average QB play. It matters. Firing him without seeing him coach on a team with a competent QB is bad idea.
I was looking at some High School pics/vids of Darnold/throwing motion. I'm sure this has already been mentioned, but wow, baby hands. Very small. As in Daunte Culpepper small. I never really noticed that before. Not concerned, though.
After 2018, we will still have had McCown playing possibly the majority of the games. Even if Darnold plays, he will be a rookie. In my eyes, still not a good assessment of what kind of Coach Bowles is. Patience is better than being trigger happy. Firing him will stunt Danrold's development because a whole new coaching staff will come in. I trust Bates to do his job. Wanting Bowles to get fired before the season has begun is pretty dumb honestly.
I am talking about TB smarts which in the end is the way you judge someone. IMHO Belly is a 10 in the smarts dept & Bowles is 1 in that same dept & since Belly is our division our chances of over taking the Pats is a big fat zero with Bowles at the helm
See that is exactly what I am talking about because TB knows he is not smart he will bring in coaches that are even less smart then him. It is called the Roberts Rule go & google it & learn something for a change
Got some other suggestion as I am a diabetic? Yep U have to face the facts that when TB was asked by the maker to come forth to receive his brain he decided to come fifth so he missed out on the brain part of receiving brains from our maker
