This was probably the most insightful interview done by any member of the Jets that I can remember. Fantastic answer by him. I also love the fact that he was basically like “yes we paid more than the chart says we should have for that third overall pick, but I also don’t give a shit”.
Feels like Mac was always on guard with the media so he didn’t give away his plan but now that it’s been executed he’s relaxed a ton with his answers
Taking it one step further, I’m sure he has a huge weight lifted off his shoulder. In his mind, he got QB1.
Lol, I’m sure the interview went on after that, but it was smart of him to recognize that Maccagnan was opening up and get out of his way. Sometimes the best thing for an interviewer to do is sit back and listen.
It's very interesting that after months of Posting TGG was thinking the same as Mac ..and he thinks pretty logically I disagree about Cousins though and I am thankful we got a high level of talent in SD who has TWICE the playing time as Capt Kirk..the Jets would have taken Mayfield if Sam went ..no doubt about it
I'm not insisting that he will not see the field at all in 2018, just that he may not. And there is a certain time period in which the NFL must be informed of any uniform changes. Whether the Jets have done that or not, I'm not sure. All I know is from what I've heard is the alternate will be seen in either 2018 or 2019, league rules depending. The Jets are working on it being available for 2018.
Color Rush uniforms will still be around, they just won't be required to wear them on Thursday Night. Teams can wear them whenever they'd like and I *think* the Jets will be one of the few who keep theirs around for 2018, depending on if a new alternate is OK'd for 2018.
When asked after the draft about picking up the playbook he said “it’ll take me a couple weeks” which is ambitiously quick. Today he said that he’s “pretty far along” https://www.northjersey.com/story/s...ong-process-learning-jets-playbook/581263002/ His face might’ve been in that book for a week straight outside of interviews and visiting the children’s hospital.
We all should be thankful that Chan Gailey isn't our OC anymore! That alone gives Darnold a far better chance of success than either Hack or Petty had.
Feet look very good for a guy who took less than 5% of his snaps under center. Doesn’t seem like that’ll be a hurdle.
He recovered all the fumbles !!! Something he needs to work on though, his hands are the average NFL QB size so this hopefully is fixable
Not that Sam is Kurt Warner, but he (Kurt) also had a fumbling issues, did research and found wearing a glove remedied his fumbling problem. Sam mentioned he was thinking about wearing a glove. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cb...or-rivers-what-they-did-for-cards-warner/amp/
