I like the majority of what you wrote and agree with the spirit that it was intended but Geno wasn't a reach in round 2, he was a freefall from round 1 and the year before was projected to be number 1 draft pick, it has been done to death and I can't be arsed to put the link up, he was however a big bust for us.
Nope-he was "projected" to go number 1 and to win the Heisman by some clueless media pundits the first few weeks of that season when he was putting up stupid numbers against trash competition. Once he started playing the tougher part of WVUs schedule, he was exposed and was never again talked about as the number 1 pick or a Heisman candidate. The only people that were talking about him being a high first round pick after that were his agents. That's why he punked out at the draft because he bought his agents' visions of delusional grandeur.
The more I think about it and look at the guy, the more excited I am for Darnold. Seems to have some flaws that sound correctable, but otherwise a very complete prospect and has the feel of a franchise QB. I like it

I think we have different ideas as to what "projections" by clueless media pundits have to reality. If you watched the dude, it was pretty obvious he was not very good. Big numbers against James Madison and Marshall and no-defense Baylor fooled a lot of pundits that don't watch college football.

I just mean he did freefall for a reason. When you take a QB in round 2 I think it's a flyer to an extent no matter what. There are good flyers and bad flyers. That was a bad one.
