Not correct at all. His footwork is pretty bad. He holds the ball too low when standing in the pocket and surveying the field. That's why he has had so many fumbles.
This is my favorite video of the guy. Not a great game for him, a lot of it not his fault. But really, if you watch this guy throw and think he's even remotely in the same space as Sanchez, I think ya need dikker glasses. Some of these throws are off the hook. Even after the game is obviously out of reach, he's still out there running hard. He had a couple of fumbles but the line couldn't protect him any more than a solo cup stack. Enjoy. I know I did. There isn't a soul who will think twice about those "2nd round picks" if Darnold becomes our Franchise's Franchise QB. Especially considering the fact that we'll have the most cao space of any team heading into next offseason + our 1st round draft selection... To BUILD AROUND Sam Darnold. I'm loving it.
Congrats, Joe. I think you were probably the biggest and most consistent Darnold supporter on the board. I hope this helps make up for some of the many frustrations and bad times you've had as a Jets fan. You're a great fan and deserve some happiness and success. May you really enjoy Darnold's time with the Jets, and may he prove to be everything you think he is and more. If so, no one will be happier than me.
This is a great tape the dude can make all the throws despite his team being overmatched by the buckeyes
Karma and good work. Good things come to those who work hard and work smart. Like the old saying, "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity."
Seems like 3 out of the last 4 years the supposed best overall prospect has fallen to us in the first. Wondering when this great luck in the first round will start to pay off?
Yep. He had a few floaters but whatever, he was getting assailed out there. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Sid Luckman, one of the all-time greats. He holds a distinction that no other QB will: winning an NFL Championship game by 73 points (1940: Bears 73; Redskins 0). Btw, besides Luckman, there's another Jewish QB in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Benny Friedman. Other Jewish QBs include Jay Fiedler and Sage Rosenfelds, two decent QBs as well.
I know that they didn't have a chance at Mayfield, but imo you're wrong. Most here didn't even think Mayfield was worth the #6 pick, much less the #1 pick. I believed that Mayfield is the best QB in this draft and Darnold the 3rd best, so we can definitely compare what Darnold does with the Jets vs. what Mayfield does with the Browns.
Darnold's footwork is shit. Throwing accurately with his feet completely out of whack is kind of his trademark.
But if it takes three years to recoup the losses of those second round picks, Darnold will already be on the wrong side of 22!
He started 27 games in college, completed 65% of his passes and threw for over 7000 yards. The turnovers aren't ideal but he'll work on that with his coaches.
Everyone told me we couldn’t take Mayfield because of his lack of “pro style” and “tight window” throws... well can’t say that about Sam. This highlight reel is LITTERED with beautiful NFL style throws.
