I didn't even think of the possibility that my day could be ruined before the draft even started. I wish I didn't care, but I just have a gut feeling Mayfield is going to be a star.
Dorsey is a smart man. I don't think he ever once compared Manziel to Mayfield in his evaluations. Probably because they are nothing alike outside of stature.
I do think they are a little similar in personality. I think their game is similar as well. Mayfield is just a much more refined and polished player. He should be just fine. But can the Browns risk it? Especially with the Cali kids on the baord?
It's a merry-go-round at this point, but I don't see any Manziel in Mayfield when it comes to personality. Manziel was an addict, Mayfield is just cocky. Were there ever any reports of Manziel coming in for pre-draft visits and completely blowing away the coaching staff? I hate the comparison personally.
I think so but I can't confirm. there was a lot of Manziel butt kissing leading up to the draft. I was tryin to find some articles but then I stopped because I came across this one and now I can't stop laughing at our old pal Gary Myers. http://beta.nydailynews.com/sports/...rue-passing-johnny-football-article-1.1786941 NY Jets, other teams will rue passing on QB Johnny Manziel in NFL draft by Gary Myers
He truly was an effective mentor for Manish. Remember Manish's first season or two where his articles were actually worth reading?
I'm don't believe the Mayfield rumors to the Browns, Dorsey doesn't leak his intentions. If Mayfield is gone, Rosen or Darnold will be available.
Still think this is a smokescreen and that it's Darnold who will be going 1. If I'm wrong, I'll eat some crow.
Wasn't one of your biggest pro-Allen talking points "he's projected to go 1 overall! Do you think you're smarter than John Dorsey?"
