It's Rosen or Darnold or it's a major failure and one of the worst trade ups in history. Mayfield would've been there at #6 guaranteed. No way are the Browns takng him #1. Smoke screen.
Who gives a shit when you stopped reading? That just shows your ignorance. It's the truth! Check out the Combine stats Mayfield's velocity was only 2-3 mph behind Allen's, and I've seen a scout or two say that Mayfield isn't even getting his full velocity because he isn't always rotating his hips correctly.
Dude, you are embarrassing yourself with your ignorant, incorrect statements. Mayfield did NOT throw a majority of screen passes. His YPA and Adjusted YPA were #1 each of the last two seasons. You simply are biased because he isn't prototypical size and played in a spread offense. Have you ever even seen him play? My bet is that you haven't. But that's OK. Carry on. There are legit reasons not to like Mayfield. You don't have to make crap up.
Yeah, Mayfield doesn't seem like the Giants' type of QB. They're too conservative and buttoned-down. Baker's too "out there" and controversial for them.
Not unless the Broncos took him at #5 or they traded out with someone that takes him at #5. Trading to #3 was a necessity to secure one of our top QBs.
I've seen Rosen compared to Goff quite frequently and experts say that Rosen is ahead of where Goff was coming out of school.
The air raid offense in college set Goff back in terms of pre-snap knowledge, so in comes McVay and McVay does a lot of work with Goff prior to the snap. This was a huge help for Goff. With Rosen, that won't be required. Good prior to the snap and post snap. They are very similar in terms of physical skill-sets, but as you indicated as well the mental separates them.
I'll remember this whilst watching the draft tomorrow night - no way do I see Mayfield still on the board at 6
Don't show your hand. Broncos could easily take this away from us and trade to 2. Giants could still get their player at 5.
1) Darnold 2 a) Mayfield 2 b) Rosen There really is no other alternative...I think we all need to bro hug each other after this draft. This has to be right, it NEEDS TO BE RIGHT. I believe in all 3 of these guys and hope none of them end up in the AFC East
We all may be really sad tomorrow night, the Jets Board is Darnold Mayfield Allen Rosen do the math if the draft goes Mayfield, Darnold
If Bowles and Mac are interested in saving their jobs, it pretty much HAS TO BE Rosen. If that's not their motivation, are trying to hit a potential homerun with job security be damned then you take Josh Allen. The other 2 provide about the same job security as Allen, which is little to none, w/o the upside.
Agree 100%. I think Giants don't see either Rosen or Baker as a replacement for Eli. My gut says if Darnold goes first they either strike with Barkley or get lucky enough for a mega trade down.
Just learned that Jedd Fisch, Rosen's OC at UCLA last year, was Jeremy Bates' QB Coach when Bates was the OC in Seattle. I vaguely recall that Fisch being reported as a possible member of Bates' short list for QB coach once he got promoted to OC here earlier this year. So Rosen is the most ready to see the field, the one that provides the most job security for the FO and our OC has a direct connection with his college OC. Now I'm pretty much 99.9% certain the pick will be Rosen. I prefer my QB to have a bit more athleticism and arm talent but I can live with that pick.
