What percentage of Rosen's throws were 40+ yard passes? If it's a small number, the sample size is too small to draw conclusions. And if it's a large number, it's impressive but it also means he has problems completing short passes, considering his overall completion percentage is 60.9.
to be fair, most Qbs are only throwing 40+ yard passes a couple of times a game. even at the NFL level. The bread and butter to moving an offense is shorter and intermediate routes. You just need the threat of the big play to keep the defense honest and on it's heels.
He sure is (was). Saw him at USC. 5-star recruit who the big boys wanted (inc. 'Bama). Cody Kessler beat him out 2x. When Clay Helton took over as HC, he reinstalled Browne as starter and after 3 weeks of dinking and dunking and stinking up the joint vs. 'Bama & Stanford, Helton finally saw the light and pulled the plug on Browne. .
If Baker is the Jets Pick: The one thing that is upsetting me about the Jets taking Mayfield over Rosen is that the only reason I can see is personality. Many say Mayfield is a great teammate, pumps up the locker room, coaches love him, etc. Rosen is too smart, holds people accountable, wants to know why, and isn't as friendly as Mayfield. WHO CARES? Aaron Rodgers is considered a jerk by many. We know Tom Brady is. Josh McCown is a class act and great guy off the field. I don't see how this has anything to do with football. I watched the tape. Rosen is better than Mayfield. That should be all that matters. Somehow it doesn't and Rosen is going to drop to a different team and have a great career. If so, we can only hope Baker has a great one too.
the niners GM who drafted smith over rodgers talked about that. He said rodgers was betetr but they loved smith's personality. everyone loves smith. he's a people pleaser while rodgers came off arrogant so they took smith instead and he regrets it.
Man my shitbag WRX which is basically brand new, broke down today. The good news is, since the car is in the shop and I couldn't get to work, I've been watching NFL network all day. Seems all teams Mayfield visited fell in love with him. Also it sounds like the Jets brought in Darnold so late in the process because they got led on to something about Darnold falling. I really think this Mayfield to the Jets stuff is a smokescreen. I just saw Rosen live, Mayfield isn't the only one with swag.
Everyone is so focused on the character thing being a knock on Rosen. Has anyone considered it may just be a positive for Mayfield?
If he produces on the field and stays out of trouble off the field, nobody here will care. Especially if he brings us a much awaited Lombardi trophy.
Sure it is, but Mayfield's had on and off the field incidents which are a concern, however minor it may be. IIRC, none of the other top 4 QB's have had such incidents.
LOL. 101, I offer up this tribute to your love for Chosen Rosen: Josh Rosen: @101GangGreen101: Josh Rosen and @101GangGreen101 together:
This would be the first time in Jets history, the Jets picked a QB I actually liked, how can I not be excited. Even if it turns out to be Mayfield, give me a few days and ill be on board.
