Of course we'd trade to one to take Mayfield. Browns can get additional picks and at 3 still get either Darnold or Allen who they have wanted all along. They're trying to squeeze the Jets

Browns probably aren't even leaking this, I think it is the NFL. They want people tuned in to see every pick.

More rumors of Mayfield to Browns with Schefter tweeting today about the Browns interest. Peter King reports that Allen is out of the discussion now for number one pick. Yesterday a scout of the Gang Green Nation podcast said Scott McCloughan was pushing Dorsey hard to take Mayfield with number one.

Just to add a bit more murkiness to top of draft: one NFL executive said this morning that Baker Mayfield is “definitely” in Cleveland’s conversation to become the No. 1 overall pick.

I have a hard time believing there is anymore discussion this close to the draft.

Agreed. Teams have to know who they are taking by now, especially Browns at 1.

Hope it's Darnold. If it's Baker, then I think we can safely say we're getting Rosen.

There is no sure thing. No shining knight that will be a franchise's savior. They all have big ifs. I am sure they will be working up to the deadline and will be constantly evaluating and re-valuating all information. But, yes I have to agree by now they must have a guy they like more than the other three even if it is just by a tiny amount. I think what is happening is less that teams are changing their minds and more that the media is finally starting to catch up to what teams are thinking. Is Josh Rosen really sliding or is this where he has been for a month? Is Mayfield really rising or is the media just catching up to scout's opinions? All that being said I love how volatile everything is and how little we actually do know with only 2 days to go. These QBs are all so close many teams likely have drastically different rankings of all 3 or 4.

No matter who we individually want to draft there are going to be some very nervous moments waiting to hear the Browns and Giants picks. I am already getting nervous. Are the Browns really interested in Mayfield or are they trying to extract compensation from us? Is Haslam desire for a flashy player providing the momentum for a last second push towards Mayfield? So many story-lines and possibilities. This must be heaven for a beat writer. It is going to be a long time until they have an opportunity to cover a Jets draft with so many open ended stories this exciting.

Quite the smokescreen the Browns are putting out there. It’s not highly inconceivable that they would want to draft the best quarterback in the country but there is no way given the current state of the organization that they would go with such an unsafe pick.

With that being said, Josh Allen is probably the worst pick possible and I think it’s more likely that they take him first over Mayfield so who knows.

    the nightmare scenario is happening
and Bills will then trade up to #2 to get Darnold
Rosen will fall to Dolphins when they trade up

Everyone is now saying Baker is going top 3. 4 teams in the top 12 said that he absolutely blew them away when they met with him. The Browns are spewing crap, The only guy they aren’t saying much about now is Darnold, so naturally he’s the pick. Very likely that Mayfield is going to be a Jet.

I read today bills won't trade up to 2..they might trade to 5 or 6 in there is a qb they want then.

It really doesn't matter what the browns are saying, they OWN the 1st pick and NOBODY is going to trade for it. Maybe they do like Mayfield and will take him. Nobody can stop it.

If Mayfield or Allen go #1, I really think McCagnan should consider picking up the phone and calling the NYG to see if they would be open to swapping picks. (Go get Darnold)
