Toronto has looked badly over-matched on the road vs. Boston. Must win at home tonight for the Leafs! 13
And Toronto came through with a big win. As did the Devils and Avalanche. Moving each of those series to 2-1. That is what the Caps need to do in Columbus tonight. They don't want to be like the Kings and Ducks and find themselves in 3-0 holes. The Ducks were blown out again tonight. They are as good as done.
Another game, other overtime for the Caps. This time Double OT, they find a way to win and make the series 2-1, just like every series in the East. The Jets took a 3-1 lead over the Wild, and the SHOCKING Golden Knights, continue to shock, as they SWEEP the Kings.
Amazing effort by the Capitals tonight. They have tied the series 2-2 headed back to Washington Saturday afternoon. Oddly enough, it is the only tied series in the NHL. Every other series is 3-1 or over already. You would think home ice would give the Caps an advantage, but the road team won the first 4 games this series. Should be interesting to see what happens next. Round 2 Sharks-Golden Knights should be a good series. Tomorrow the Penguins, Jets and Predators attempt to punch their tickets to Round 2.
Nobody wants to talk hockey on this site lately! Another great day of the NHL playoffs. The Caps win at home finally, in their 4th OT game of the playoffs already, 4-3 and take a 3-2 series lead. Toronto played really well tonight and forced a Game 6 with a 4-3 win over Boston. Tampa Bay won their series over the Devils today, but hats off to New Jersey. They had a great season. Tomorrow the Pens and Preds look to move to Round 2, while the Flyers and Avalanche hope to force Game 7's!
Sorry TDK, I have been crazy busy with work, spring cleaning in and outside of the house, lawn work, taxes, daughters wedding...etc I have watched the games and the physical play of the capitals has worn down the bluejackets. The capitals were dominating the offensive zone and it was just a matter of time before they scored the game winner. Tampa was too deep for the Devils. Winnipeg is a big and fast team, honestly the West has three teams with goalies who can carry them to the cup finals. Hard to pick from Nashville, knights, and Jets.
I have to admit I have not watched any of these games,,,,,I watch the highlights and see the boxscores,,,,,maybe once all these teams advance I will get into it. Rooting for the Knights thats some story if it happens
Yeah, Bobrovsky has made some great saves this series. Hopefully he has an off game tomorrow. The Penguins beat the Flyers 8-5 and move on to Round 2, waiting for the Capitals or Blue Jackets. Side Note: Many of us dislike the Flyers (and Pens of course) but I felt bad for the Flyers fans. The 3 games they paid to see were all losses including 5-0, 5-1 and today blowing a 4-2 lead to lose the series clincher 8-5. That is brutal. All against your hated rival too. But hey, they won the Super Bowl!
I felt less bad for them when they started throwing garbage on the ice after the Pens iced it with the empty net goal.
I overreacted. Though I love Holtby and him not starting upset me. Once he was reinserted: 4 starts. 4 WINS. Gritty effort by the Caps after losing the first 2 at home in OT. Hats off to Columbus, they were tough and never went away. Caps move on to play the Penguins for a 3rd straight year. You guys know the old saying: 3rd times the charm!
When asked about Pittsburgh Ovechkin said "Can't wait" hahaha love it. Rooting for Ovechkin, he's actually become underrated.
Yes sir! Need to start the series strong. Going down 0-2 at home is not a good recipe for success. For some reason the Round 2 schedule is not out yet. I guess it will be some time today. Still 1 game left in Round 1: As Toronto forced a Game 7 with Boston. I think the Bruins are one of the best teams in the East, but so are the Maple Leafs. This will be a great Game 7. Just like the Caps last year, the Bruins drawing the Leafs Round 1 is tough luck. They are young, talented, and scrappy.
