Mariota had a down year, and despite this still helped the Titans to the playoffs. Here is the Titans fans on picking up his 5th year option: https://gotitans.com/threads/titans-will-exercise-mariotas-5th-year-option.100122/ I know there is more to record than the quarterback, but it is also impossible to look at the position as a non-factor. Here is Mariota's play in the AFC Wild Card game vs a very good Chiefs defense: He obviously couldn't overcome New England, but not many do. There is this breakdown on the situation, which favors Winston, but shows sort of an up in the air analysis of the two, for different reasons, and also coming from a Tampa Bay source: https://www.bucsnation.com/2018/2/21/17036630/winston-or-mariota-then-and-now Point is, I don't think it is fair to say Winston is "far ahead". This DOES show what a bad system fit means for these guys though. That really needs to be evaluated for these QBs in the context of the Jets, more so than I think it has. It is one of the many reasons I love Mayfield to the Jets, but whatever.
Awesome he did his own Mark Sanchez impression. Why wouldn't they exercise his contract? They didn't draft another qb Anyway the kid limits the offense, has a top 5 line and running game ... still more interceptions then tds in a critical year. Winston is a better qb. Bad run game, no line and plays in a tough division. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
Says Tony Pauline. He'll be on the SNY pre draft show Thursday night I believe. Maybe he'll expound on that declaration then, and explain himself further on the post pick show later that night
He must be feeling pretty confident basically guaranteeing Baker to the Jets and then going on the Jets TV station the day of the draft. Sounds like a guy ready to gloat
I guess. He's been doing that show for a long time now. I never really knew what to make of him except that he's your run of the mill draft guy, they're everywhere. But, he also said that they would pass on Rosen for him and "that would be a big mistake." That sounds more like Tony Pauline
Guess we'll have to wait and see. Rosens stock seems to be dropping and I'm not sure why. Wonder if it's something that leaked out the past few days that hasn't made it to the media yet, or if he's saying things in interviews with teams that they're finding unnerving. But something seems to have changed in the past few days regarding how Rosen is viewed and we just don't know what that is. Tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist in me says the source of this is the Patriots who are hoping he drops enough to where they can trade up and nab him.
Who knows? A ton of people seem to like Mayfield from the NFL on down, football people. They like his personna I think, I do. But maybe not Rosen. Maybe it's medical with Rosen? I'll believe Pauline has some tangible inside info when I see it tho. 4 days to go.
