For the longest time it was Darnold to Cleveland at 1. Then you started to hear whispers about Allen. I believe this was done because they thought the Jets liked Allen the most and were looking to have us desperately jump from 3 to 1 and get our guy. No dice. Jets only had interest in Allen early in the process. Now I guarantee you're going to see a lot of reports about the Browns falling in love with Mayfield and possibly taking him 1st hoping to scare the Jets into making a trade to ensure they get their guy. Will we bite or call their bluff?
there is no proof mayfield is out guy and if Cleveland wants him good. I feel like mayfield is the red herring of the draft. Every team is using him to try and bait another team to taking him, but nobody really wants him. I'd be surprised if mayfield goes in the top 10 at this point

I pray that the Browns take Mayfield. That would be the absolute best scenario for the Jets in my mind. I cringe at the thought of taking Mayfield over Rosen, Darnold, Allen.

Mayfield doesn't have a first round grade by SEVERAL people. I don't hear many proclaiming that about the other top 3 QBS in this draft. Drafting Mayfield would be a mistake. I truly don't get the infatuation with him. I haven't watched anything that gets me excited when I watch his tape. It baffles me why so many Jets fans are so excited about him. Still waiting for what I'm missing....
Mayfield actually has been touted as the top QB in this draft by some credible folks. And advances stats are all in his favor Allen is the disaster waiting to happen
The Mayfield camp recently told the shitbag Chargers and their soccer field stadium to buzz off. I feel Mayfields agent will soon launch some rumors stating that if Cleveland drafts him, he won't play for them.
PFF has Mayfield as the highest graded QB prospect in the last 4 years. Too many smoke screens going on right now. I doubt Mayfield falls out of the top 5, but it's impossible to know what front offices are really thinking right now.

Same goes for Allen. I've heard a draft pundit call Barkely the 5th best back in this class and say he has a late 2nd/early 3rd grade on him. One of the pod casts I listen to has had the Jets taking Jackson in their mocks for weeks in a row. One pundit called Darnold a Cow on ice refering to his footwork. Just because some people cant see it does not mean it is not there.
