Mayfield may be the only qb in this class that could start and have success right away. He’s the only guy who hasn’t shown a lot of flaws in college.

He will be great in ny I so hope the jets pick him. Been a fan 40+ yrs. and I got to say he so reminds me of a drew brees. Darnold reminds me of Sanchez he turned the ball over a ton in college. Rosen word is he has to be pushed and some feel he isn’t that much into football as he should be. Another player was like that for the jets Vernon gholston anyone! Allen can’t even complete 60% of his balls in a horrible conference. Look what wentz did in college. If the jets are smart they would take mayfield. Not a scout but watch a ton of football. Great post and spot on! It's sad (and yet laughable at the same time) that some posters are in such a state of denial, delusion, or intellectual dishonesty with themselves that they can't see or admit that they have a blatant bias against Mayfield due to his personality, his lack of height, and/or the fact that he played in a spread offense, and yet they project their own biases on others suspecting them of being as biased or dishonest as they themselves are.
LA, sorry, but you are mistaken. Rosen is not good throwing on the move. He has to stop and set his feet, which gets him sacked, hit, or the windows close. Mayfield is much better throwing on the move.

I have seen more misinformation, ignorant nonsense posted that is completely contrary to facts and reality, and lazy opinions based on nothing but bias in these QB threads that it has been sickening. It has really drug the discussion level down precipitously over the last couple of months.

C'mon, Colorado. You know that the bolded is utter nonsense. Rosen may operate in the pocket, but he holds the ball too long, and isn't very mobile. He would be in more danger in the Jets' backfield than Mayfield would. Mayfield is more athletic, mobile and elusive. He will definitely need to tone that down some, and learn to stay in the pocket more, but you yourself have pointed out several times how well Mayfield uses and moves in the pocket. Bottom Line: The Jets need to fix the OL and upgrade the RB corps regardless of who is playing QB. It's not just limited to Mayfield.
If that's true, then Bowles definitely needs to go. Not only does it not make sense then that he would like Mayfield, but would also limit his ability and success.
Seriously..who cares what Bowles thinks or likes, he is probably stealing his last paydays from the Jets this year anyway. God help Macgagnan if he is doing anything based on what Bowles likes.
I'm very impressed by all the analytics that favor Mayfield. Here's a question. If you believe in analytics why aren't we using quants to handle our draft trades and draft players?
Come on man. Metrics are one part of a bigger story. They are context to support or refute what your eyes tell you. What is important is the big picture. The big picture is an aggregation of everything: attributes (not in Mayfields favor), metrics (in Mayfields favor), on field performance (in Mayfields favor), leadership / force multiplier (potentially Mayfields greatest attribute), doing "the little things" (not a pun) (in Mayfields favor), indicators of historical success (mixed bag, some good, some bad). Anyone who gets caught up in just one of those elements is missing the forest through the trees. As much as I love Mayfield, I would say to any Mayfield fan that only looks at metrics that they like him for the wrong reasons. On the flip side of that coin, the majority of the arguments against Mayfield are heavily weighted on attributes and historical context, with a casual dismissal of the rest as irrelevant.
This is about the best way to explain it. Watch the games, what do your eyes tell you. Then go to Stats/Analytics/metrics and see if they support what you saw. If not give the games a closer look and try to figure out why what your seeing does not match the numbers. The part we have the least access to is the meetings. Those have a huge factor in a teams final grade and we know little to nothing about the white board work, medical reviews, and how the kid interviews over all. My only though on it all is I'm going to support which ever QB we draft until he gives me enough reasons not to. I just pray its not Allen or Jackson at 3.
