?

If Darnold and Allen are gone, who would you pick with the 3rd pick?

  1. Rosen

    69.0%
  2. Mayfield

    31.0%

If Rosen is still there at #9, the Jets deserve the punishment they'll endure from the Josh Rosen Era.

can you imagine us passing on rosen and allen for mayfield and the bills/pats. fins wind up with rosen, jackson, and allen? that would be SOJ in a nutshell

yes we know how you feel, but this has taking obrien over marino written all over it. I only hope you stay here long enough to admit how wrong you are on mayfield 3 years down the road

I've been here since before the board was rebooted. I know you to love imagine Mayfield fans running screaming for the hills the minute he throws his first interception, but that is fantasy. I've been wrong before and know there are many good reasons why I may be wrong about this too. This is my best judgement with the information available to me.

That's not cool man. Fitting too as Rosen did the fake spike against Texas A&M

I'm sure it'll be more and more like the petty supporters who pumped him up down to the wire. it'll be 3 years of excuses and blaming the OC and bowles and such before acceptance kicks in. Seriously though there is a good chance that 4 of the top 5 Qbs in the class wind up in the AFC east, which makes picking the wrong one sting that much worse.

Recall in 1983 all 5 AFC East teams drafted a QB in the 1st round. There is a possibility it could happen again.

Bro, have a history lesson. Dan Marino was an extremely accomplished college QB and Kenny O was some no name guy from a small school with a strong arm

In your comparison Marino is Mayfield and O'Brien is Josh Allen, not the other way around

and the jets wound up with the 2nd worst one taking obrien. meanwhile the colts got elway (who they had to trade away), the fins got marino, the bills got kelly, the pats got eason (biggest bust), and the jets of course obrien. Kelly, elway, and marino are all in the HOF. IDK why anyone would want to go through that again

who said anything about allen or mayfield specifically? I think you need to calm down a bit because your insane bias is showing

I'd say Rosen is Marino in this scenario. Most likely to drop and is the purest passer in the draft.

This goes in every direction. I'll never forget one of the top players I've ever had a crush on throughout the draft process was Dont'a Hightower. I wanted him to be a Jet so bad. When the Jets took Quinton Coples, I nearly put a hole in the wall with my Game of Thrones book. Then when the Patriots took Hightower, I really wanted to damage something.

If Mayfield somehow finds his way on to New England, and succeeds with them, I might just buy a Mayfield Patriots jersey with the sole intention of burning it and dancing on the ashes. That would be a hundred times worse for me than the Hightower miss.

I always thought the best Marino comparison was Peyton Manning. Nothing quite says good times like rubbing your testicles on the face of the female nurse of your collegiate team.

    Another Marino comparison:

yeah that's why I try and not get too caught up in loving players before a draft because they likely won't be on your team and could be on a competitors team. Like many here, I root for the jersey not the player.

If mayfield winds up on the pats i'd be pretty happy. if they are dead set on getting a QB, that's the one i want them to have. brady gone, belli might retire and they are stuck with a new coach and a most likely bust at QB. the other 4 scare me too much for their upside

He wishes he was Marino. Marino was like 35-3 as a starter. That's more like Mayfield. Rosen was barely over .500

Allen scares me the most, but for different reasons. :)

Mayfield was on a great team filled with NFL prospects. He's easily had the best supporting cast.

Can't expect 1 player to carry a college roster. Rosen has near perfect mechanics mechanics, just like Marino. Marino was passed on by lesser talented qbs.

SOJ to me would be drafting Allen who fits the prototypical Mac QB project mold which he has failed with numerous times and then having Mayfield and Rosen go to our archrivals.

Id personally rather play against Josh Allen then baker mayfield

There are only two reasons to take Mayfield over Rosen

    1) Baker is two years older and better positioned to start in year 1, thus giving McCagnan, Bowles, and Bates the best chance of keeping their jobs.

    2) The Johnsons dont want to deal with Rosens liberal social media posts.

Reason #2 is a bit overstated, but reason #1 is why you clean house before making an important draft pick like this.
