Yes, when you watch/read stuff like this about Rosen, how can you not see his quality? If I were the Browns, I would be meeting with Rosen to try and sell him on coming to Cleveland, despite his reservations. The ONLY reason he doesn't go #1 is because the Browns likely won't take him because of his vague comment about wanting to play where he best fits, not necessarily to be the highest draft pick, which was taken to mean "I don't want to go to Cleveland" (Probably correctly interpreted).
Darnold, IMO, would need at least half a year to be ready to play with his mechanics and throwing motion. To be fair Rivers has an unconventional throwing motion and it hasn't hurt him in the NFL. Mayfield likely needs half a year of seasoning as well to get up to NFL speed. Rosen, OTOH, can start right away and can be a Peyton Manning like cerebral pocket passing QB if he reaches his ceiling.
Put me in this boat. If Rosen is gone and we get Mayfield? Awesome. If Mayfield is gone and we get Rosen? Awesome. If both are available? Flip a coin because I believe in both more than any other QB in this draft lol
there is no way mayfield is gone before we pick. that's what scares me. Allen could be gone, rosen could be gone, darnold will be gone. Mayfield will be there at 3 no matter what. That alone should draw some red flags
When it happens it will draw some red flags maybe but you can't go claiming things that have not happened as a red flag event. I think you need to make peace with your inner Mayfield just in case we do select him, everybody else has a preferred option and and a one they don't like and nothing surer that some of us are going to be unhappy at who gets chosen but you don't see them constantly digging at the one they don't like as much as you, hell, you been at it since the season finished I am already disappointed as I was hoping Barkley would fall to 6 lol
Not trying to discredit or argue, just wondering why it would be a red flag to you? Especially since Cleveland is leaning Allen at 1 (lol IMO) and Giants could range from Chubb, Nelson, Barkley, or Darnold/Rosen?
the browns only want darnold or allen the giants said they only want darnold the bills could trade up for 2 but nowhere does it suggest ti would be for mayfield. of course it's all rumors but still. If mayfield is a jet, I'll root like hell for the kid and hope i'm dead wrong. but i won't be happy with the pick. but as far as the constant digs, clearly you ahven't read the board much. everyone plays the "me too" card with allen anytime you point a negative to mayfield even tough he isn't the discussion or my preferred pick. the Allen hate on this board is near insane and I don't even want allen but see it pretty clearly.
because essentially nobody is looking at taking mayfield over allen, rosen, or darndold that is picking at the top of the draft. Hell we don't even know if the jets are looking at him over any of those 3. You can laugh at Cleveland, but dorsey is their GM and chose mahomes last year for KC so it's not like it's the same old browns. it's a new staff there and they haven't even paid any attention to mayfield and that's a red flag
But you don't know this at all, well unless you have insider knowledge of the Browns future draft choices. We can say that Mac did go and seen Mayfield live and the next day went and traded up to number 3
I might have to eat those words. apparently according to reports today, dorsey has gone dark (even keeping his staff out of the loop) studying the top 4 hard as far as mac trading up right after seeing mayfield, we all know no NFL GM is that dumb to tip their hand like that. it's more likely a smoke screen or a coincidence. At that point, everyone seen mayfield being there at 6, no reason to tip you hat. it could have been the opposite too, after seeing mayfield he knew he had to trade up for rosen, allen, or darnold as mayfield wasn't cutting it. not to mention he tried to get up to 1 as well and nobody was trading up to 1 for mayfield, so while we both have theory's mine sounds more plausible
But mine isn't a theory, my sentence was the truth, I also didn't say he was drafting Mayfield, merely hinting at it to yank your chain so to speak lol One thing is for certain we will find out on draft night lol
Fact fact fact. That's how I have been feeling. I don't see it as a red-flag if Baker is there at 3. I think it's very fair to assume he will be. If ANYTHING - while it's still not a red flag - but if ANYTHING - Rosen there at #3 still could be "telling". I want either of them. If we walk away with neither, something went wrong.
yes your sentence about the timing is true, but it could be no reason or any reason. All i know is the 26th can't get here fast enough and this place is going to be a shitshow when our pick is made. watch it be barkley and 99% of us uproar and the 1 dude who kept making the barkely thread pulls an "i told you so" on everyone LMAO
The more I think about it, if Rosen is there for the Jets at 3, he will be the pick. Unless they really like Baker.
Oh please, he's not going #1 as Dorsey had no interest in him before even taking the Cleveland job. It has nothing to do with his whiny comments.
Same here fam...I am good with either one. It will be one of those go with your gut picks that can elevate this offense and franchise overall
They traded up right after Baker's pro day, but that same week they saw Rosen. I think they have Darnold #1 They basically are drafting one of Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield
If Mac does, all JET fans should celebrate!!! A playmaker that the other team has to account for in game planning, what a novel idea. Rather than Darnold the turnover machine, Rosen (who I like best) on IR, Mayfield the flop waiting to happen, and Josh "Hack" Allen. Rudolph in round 2 may be the guy we wish we had. We don't have the coaches or roster to support putting the franchise on the back of one of these question mark QB's. There are plenty on this board who think this is our only chance at getting a FQB. Such a stupid way to rebuild a team. Maybe Mac won't think like the majority on this board, and do the best thing for the team moving forward. If Rosen or Darnold are the guys who Mac likes, he may get his man at 3. No way he believes the hype surrounding the "Big 4 QB's", and takes his #3 QB with a game changer there at 3. Mac moved up to either get his #2 QB, or the best player in the draft. To think otherwise is stupid. Bridgewater/McCown and Barkley, is far greater than Mayfield/Allen and Powell. That's elementary as hell.
