This is where my head is at. Hopefully this isn’t the game we look back at that “woke up” the nationals.

I know in a 162 game season it can't really be true, but I can't help the feeling that tonight is almost a must game, with a loss having significant potential to lead to real trouble. One thing for sure - this is Callaway's first true speed bump, and it will be interesting to see how he handles it.

Of course, as the old saying goes about baseball, "Momentum is tomorrow's starting pitcher." If Wheeler has another game like his last one and the bullpen doesn't completely implode again, all can be forgiven and forgotten.

The Mets bringing us back to a sober reality. Im with all of you, I am very afraid our little magical run ended last night. Nationals can sweep us right back and wash all the fun away

I want to believe last night was an anomaly. Every single relief pitcher we brought in couldn't find the zone. Not many nights where 4 or 5 guys can't throw a strike.

I want to believe that too, but in the first 14 games every single relief pitcher was (almost) perfect, which is also an anomaly. It's really disappointing that on a night that deGrom is dominant for 7 innings they lose in such a demoralizing fashion, and you want to wipe out that bad feeling as quickly as you can.

I'm not worried about it. deGromm had a stellar night, that game was in the bag. Plus Bruce & Ces both didn't start. For most nights it will be near impossible to have that much go wrong in such a small window of time.

The Nats are still very much a top team in MLB despite their recent struggles. When Murphy returns they will be a though matchup. The Mets need to hit them hard before he returns, so they must win at least 1 of the next 2.

It'll be a cold one tonight! I hope Wheeler can play as well as he did against Miami.

Is Callaway suddenly taking crazy pills? Harper up with a man on third and one out in the top of the first and he brings the infield in?

Wheeler bailed out on the nice 6-4-3. Not feeling it with him tonight - Mets better score a bunch.

Yeah, Wheeler pretty much sucks against everyone but the Marlins.

And I don't care what Keith and Ronny say, if the Mets gets swept in this series, it sure as hell is a big deal, and people will be pointing to that collapse last night as possibly the turning point of the season.

I give Wheeler credit for getting it together after the fourth inning.

Callaway with another bizarre decision to have Gsellman pitch to Harper with a man on second and one out in the top of the 7th. Amazingly enough it works out, but really?

And then Zimmerman drives in the run anyway. More failure from the bullpen.

First Reyes in the 6th and now Frazier in the 7th fail with a man on third and one out. All the things that weren't happening in the first 14 games.

Why is Rosario standing two feet in front of the base to take the throw on the stolen base attempt? That cost the Mets the out. As Keith likes to say, fundys do matter, and I'm not liking what I'm seeing of them from the Mets. Collins was a joke in terms of having the Mets play fundamental baseball, but I thought Callaway would be different.

Mets are 0/9 with RISP. Barring a 9th inning miracle, another sad performance.

Well, even if tonight's game wasn't a must win, tomorrow's sure as hell is.
