LOL Yeah, he would be perfect for the culture change the Jets are trying to institute. I bet he'd also be a perfect mentor for Anderson on off-field behavior.

Dez will probably go to the Redskins or the... Giants? He told players when he was walking out that he'd see them twice a year.

Probably unless some dumbass team throws way too much money at him.

You can't break what is already broken.

I think you guys are forgetting how much this team needs to add talent.

We could draft Joe Montana and still end up 8-8 or worse.

He was the fourth option on a team with a less than stellar receiving unit. Yeah, let's go get him.

  7. We’re at least a year away from really making headway w the talent especially top end talent. This year is all about getting the QB which is the hardest & most important piece that makes adding talent thats cohesive a much surer bet moving forward.Dez Bryant isnt going to change any of this.

In fairness to Dez, he really doesn't get into any off field trouble. Except that one time...

CJ Anderson officially released. I personally would LOVE to sign this guy and pair him with Crowell, then let Bilal, Rawls, McGuire battle for the 3rd spot. But in truth, I feel like CJA to Tampa is a no brainer.

Regarding Dez, unless you think that Prescott either truly hated him or is completely incompetent, his poor performance on a pretty crappy team does not speak well for his current level of skills.

I can't see the Giants signing him given their OBJ problems (another diva WR is just what they need), and Eagles fans would riot if the Eagles signed him, so I'll bet Washington is his #1 target. It really all depends on what Alex Smith thinks, I would imagine. Smith is certainly an accomplished enough veteran to be able to handle Bryant if he wants to.

Otherwise I see Bryant offering himself around for a payday wherever he can get it.

Washington already said no to Dez. So did the Giants.

    Ravens look decently interested.

Why? I could perhaps understand this move if the Jets were a playoff team, but they aren't. They're still rebuilding. Anderson is 27 which is getting up there for a RB even though he hasn't had a ton of carries. He isn't as good a receiver as Powell, nor as fast/quick. McGuire showed flashes last season. Why jettison him if Anderson won the competition? Anderson probably doesn't have but another season or two left, maybe 3. Rookie RBs can start. There's no point in signing another older vet. They've already signed Crowell and Rawls. Rawls probably won't make the team as it is.

As you said, Tampa Bay makes a lot more sense both for the team and the player.

I would be very concerned about his effect on Jimmy G. He needs a strong QB mentally, and G has played 5 games.

Is it sad I had to look up who we even have at kicker?

TBH I'd have no problem cutting Bilal for CJA. CJA is definitely a better overall player than Bilal and he's also 2 years younger. CJA is also solid in the pass game, and is a very patient runner with strong vision. Overall CJA > Bilal. This is probably semantic at this point because I doubt the Jets actually sign him given CJA's options elsewhere, but that's why.

Also to add CJA and Crowell would compliment each other almost perfectly style wise. And we are expected to put a heavy emphasis on the run game this year.

Man, I don't know about this sentiment. CJ might be more capable of carrying the load than Bilal, but I don't think he is the better overall player. Powell averaged 5.5 ypc 2 years ago and 4.3 ypc last season. I also don't think you can say that Anderson is nearly as good at pass catching. Powell has averaged 42 receptions the last 3 seasons.
