Yes I do. The thing people forget is, the Bills basically have 2 drafts worth of picks. If we gave up both firsts, a second, and a third, what would we have left? We'd still have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick this year like a normal team. We may have to give up a first next year and I would be fine with that, most teams have to give that up to get a franchise QB. Just giving up 2 firsts, a second and third this year would feel like a steal (since we would have a whole draft left this year, 1st, 2nd and 3rd).
Should be interesting to see what Buffalo does and whether or not they move up to 2. A move up into the top 10 seems inevitable.
Draft day trades tend to bring out the panic in desperate teams. That means overspending. And the Bills are desperate.
Going by the title of the thread, my answer is "no". The Jets' plan to trade up to two had to be based on at least two factors; the two picks ahead of them will be QBs (regardless of who owns them), and that they must have at least 3 QB's they'd be happy to use the third pick on...If the plan didn't include both, they wouldn't have made that trade...not to say they I'm sure wouldn't like to control their own QB destiny, but short of that you don't make that trade without being at piece with those two factors...so all that said, it really doesn't matter if the Bills trade up to #2 or not...Now admittedly, my hope/dream would be that the Giants stay there and pick a non-QB, but that's not realistic...the smart move for the Giants is either to take a QB or trade the pick...staying at #2 and not taking a QB is devaluing their position. As I've posted before, based on QB's going 1/2, realistic best case scenario for the Jets is at #3 they can choose between Rosen/Mayfield (assuming there's no way Darnold falls to #3)...Rosen's my guy...
Thing is the 12th pick is too far for the Giants to get the value in this draft...I can still see them just doing it because of the run on QBs Three 1st round picks from the Bills and a two 2nd rounders will get it done. The other trade rumor is Denver moving up to #2 for Josh Rosen. Which seems unnecessary from them at this point but who knows.
I agree. But I could also see teams not wanting to move out and miss on top end talent like Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, and Smith. That would be the only reason preventing a trade up. Should be interesting come draft night.
Denver taking Rosen would suck, but I believe it. What do they have to offer that would get them to #2?
Overspending doesn’t really matter to me since the Bills have the extra picks. Whatever we give up we’ll still have plenty left over. It’s not like you’re giving up your draft.
Really ? I thought it was Country Boy Allen and Ole Miss Eli together forever.. Well..if you are right.. then months ago I knew..MAYFIELD to Broadway!
Yesterday on NFL live Chris Mortensen said there is no way the Giants are trading with the Bills is to far down.
They have enough. They could trade their next three #1’s. Which I think is what it would take. But at a certain point it becomes too expensive.
The Bills decide to trade from 8 to 2 on draft day they will be getting fucked in the ass by the Giants. I almost hope it happens, except fuck the Giants. What you think is good value is probably not because you will just make some dumb argument that you think makes it better.
Bills will have to give up everything to get 2. The giants know the bills are desperate and as it approaches draft day the bills will be feeling it. The question is do the giants really want to start their draft at 12 and miss the blue chip prospects? There's a reason Indy was happy for a qb team to go above them in the draft and they start at 6 Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
Yea I don’t see the Giants dropping below 5. That spot could still land them one of Chubb or Barkley. Denver trading up to 2 is not crazy. Their current starter is Keenum who is by no means a great QB. He could be a good bridge for a young guy and you can never have too many talented QB’s. Giving the rest of their roster they could afford to move up.
Like other posters said I think Mac had to think 2 qbs would go before the 3 pick. So he must have 3 qbs he be fine with at 3rd over all. Now if giants stay and don’t pick qb it’s just gravy. Plus two teams in front of us boards could be different so Mac could end up with the top qb on his board. I’m just happy we will have hope again since were getting one of the top 4 qbs. Let’s just hope one will be a starter for years to come.
