    Try to be honest here...

    Least Favorite
    1) Jamal Adams-Really wanted Pat Mahomes last year.

    2) Calvin Pryor-Still shocked we didn’t draft Brandin Cooks that year.

    3) D’Brickashaw Ferguson-Was pounding the table for Matt Leinart

*Honarable Mention* Bryan Thomas- That was a WTF pick

    Favorite
    1) Keyshawn Johnson-Excited to see that kind of playmaker in college come to the Jets

    2) Shonn Greene-Saw him play a lot at Iowa, and thought he would be a great pro.

    3. Geno Smith-Was really excited to get him in the second round. I thought he had a chance to be a really good QB.

*Honorable Mention* Jonathan Vilma-Back when getting a guy from the U was like drafting an Alabama player.

I’m usually pretty indifferent about the draft when it comes to specific players, but I was excited for Jamal Adams, Brick, Revis, Mangold and Keyshawn.

But those all pale in conparrison to the absolute hatred I had the the Kyle Brady pick. Not just because we passed on Saap, which was bad enough, but because we picked Johnny Mitchell in the first round the year before. Just pure f’ing stupidity.

Milliner. I hated that pick on a Kyle Brady level; can’t believe I forgot him.

    Lol.
His body language to me wreaked, as in stunk, at the combine and thereafter. Hasn't played since '15 and looks to be finished.

Of our recent drafts, least favorite was Geno. Could tell right away he was a moron and a bust

My favorite was actually Jace Amaro. Thought at worst he'd be a 40-50 catch tight end. Never thought he'd flame out of the NFL like this

Pryor I didn't really like but warmed up to him. Then learned to hate him all over again.

    1. Dwayne Robertson 2003 (and it's not even close)--Follow me on this --The jets players voted WR Coles as their team Mvp in 2002--Bradway did not protect him so Washington stole him with us getting their number 1 pick. That pick and the jets own FIRST and fourth pick traded to get Robertson. So we traded our team MVP from the year before and OUR first round and fourth round pick to draft a short DL with bad knees.
    2. Mark Sanchez--never thought he was that good at USC and only started there one year--was very disappointed when jets traded king's ransom and move up for him
    3. Alex Van Dyke (who?). In 1996 WR Van Dyke was the first player taken in the second round. The jets had just drafted WR Keyshawn with the #1 pick in 1995, had just signed WR Jeff Graham AND had their best receiver from 95 Wayne Chrebet coming back. The 96 jets had tons of holes, so how could Rich Idiot Kotite takes ANOTHER WR with his next pick when he had a need at literally every other position.

    Favorite (at the time)
    1. I thought Geno Smith was a steal in the 2nd round--I was wrong
    2. I thought Jason Ferguson was a great pick in the SEVENTH round in 1997--I was right
    3. I thought Bob Crable was a great first round pick in 1982--never did much though although he had some injuries

Loved at time of pick that I was wrong on

Jeff Lageman- I was 7 years old he looked like a bad man and had cool hair.

Kyle Brady- As a youngster using nothing more than a sports illustrated “draft” magazine as my guide( didn’t have internet yet). I was convinced we knew more than any team in the league and would go on to great things by Taking him over Sapp he has to be special.

Alex Van Dyke- He and Keyshawn together were going to be deadly. I was 14.

Mike Nugent- I was sold on us being a kicker away from a title and very baked.

Anthony Becht- It was easy to sell me on tight ends in my earlier days of watching football. Thought he would be a steal, what Kyle Brady should have been.

Kellen Clemens- Was sold on him being the future.

    Joel Dressen- more TE hype.

The entire 02 draft, I even bought into Bryan Thomas. Really loved McGraw and Baker( TE love).

Picks I loved that went well
Arron Glenn- Possibly my all time favorite Jets.
    Keyshawn- Hero to jet nation
    Revis- Was a god
Shaun Ellis and John Abraham- Very happy with our bookends as people were calling them.
Laveranues Coles- combine hype got me hoping for him, was pretty thrilled when his name came across the ticker.

I could go on but I’ll stop for now. Fun thread.

Least favorite: Brady, with an honorable mention for the needless pick of Coples

Most favorite: Mangold. High OL picks have been a rarity but almost always a need.

In my early tears of following the game I couldn't listen to the draft live, so I relied on magazine reports. I remember being disappointed at taking Roger Vick and very pleased with Al Toon, but they weren't particularly informed reactions (although they turned out to be pretty accurate!)

The first draft I watched live was in 1989, when Jeff Lageman was taken. I remember Mel Kiper going off about the pick and at the time I was interested in the receivers Hart Lee Dykes and Andre Rison, who the Jets had said they wanted but who weren't going to be available. In the event, they were both still available, but the Jets opted for Lageman. I was still young enough to think that whoever the Jets drafted would turn out to be good, so I wasn't too swayed by Kiper's explosion and Lageman became one of my favourite players.

Since then, Chad Pennington and Santana Moss were my two favourite picks, while Dee Milliner was the one that made me wince. I think this year's first-round pick is likely to make it onto everybody's list in a few years, the only question being which list he makes it onto!

I nearly broke something when the Jets drafted Quinton Coples. I was in love with Dont'a Hightower that year. When Hightower went to New England, it pretty much ruined the vacation I was taking in Florida.

In terms of loving picks we actually made, the two times the Jets actually picked a player I REALLY wanted them to take were Nick Mangold and Bryce Petty. I celebrated both quite a bit.

I was pumped for the Brick and Mangold picks. Remember when the Jets used to invest in the O-line...

I was extremely excited for Sanchez as well. I thouhgt he could become the game manager that Rex wanted to go along with that Defense.

Calvin Prior ug... I really wanted Kelvin Benjamin that year and belived that Clinton-Dix was the better saftey prospect.

Coples ... When Rex ran him through linebacker drills at his pro day I had a sinking feeling and it came true.
