Let's just hope Hahn is full of shit. would be like putting all of our eggs in Jay Cutler's basket. terrible choice. probably just a smoke screen though to prevent the Giants from inevitably trying to screw us over. Jets cannot let anyone know who they really want.
That comparison to Rosen has been around for a year already......and I believe there's truth to it. He's not an easy guy to get along with, will rub coaches and teammates the wrong way. That's not a personality you want leading this franchise.
Me neither. I agree with his assessment on Rosen though. If Allen and Darnold are gone, as is being projected, I'd rather roll the dice on Mayfield.
I am for Mayfield, but not if Rosen is still available when the Jets pick. I can't imagine them passing on the best pure passer and most NFL ready QB in the draft, but it's the Jets and they've done questionable things before.
I'm not too concerned about 'NFL ready'. This pick is for the long haul, not the immediate start, and I think all these QB's would and should sit for awhile anyway. Rosen is massively risky. I don't think he will be long for this league, and will have a lot of locker room drama around him. That's not what you build a franchise around. I think he definitely will be available at #3 for those reasons, and I'm hoping the Jets are smart enough to look elsewhere at QB.
Rosen got that Joe Montana mentality, the type to crack a joke in a huddle during a stressful moment. https://www.rollingstone.com/cultur...ana-spies-john-candy-super-bowl-xxiii-0106360 Maybe hes the next Montana? Both progression type QBs.
You’re out of your mind, man. All this arrogance talk is exaggerated like always. Even Rodgers at some points is looked at as arrogant. If you’re not a good Ol Christian boy that’s the rep you get in the NFL. Cutler was the same way and he had a decent career but the difference is Rosen is actually smarter on and off the field.
FWIW, this from Bucky Brooks. I think he makes some very good points, but those who hate Rosen will continue to object. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-best-qb-in-2018-draft-dont-count-out-cowboys To me, this sums up my feelings about Rosen: "When I look at Rosen, I see the combination of talent and intelligence that separates good from the greats at the position. If I had a chance to grab that player as my franchise quarterback, I'm getting him and I'm not worried about the "Whys" that he will pepper my coaches with over the next decade. It'd be up to me and my staff to make sure we have all the answers."
Here's Rosen on the Rich Eisen podcast. It's well worth a listen in general, but if you have ADD just start at the 17:15 mark. Just another reason why he should be a Jet, and perhaps the best reason.
Anyone who watches this and still thinks he shouldn't be our next QB is crazy. EDIT: And I predict he'll be playing in NY for the Jets (Hope Hope Hope!) or the Giants.
Hahaha sureeee http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/04/09/report-giants-like-darnold-but-not-rosen/ Come to papa?
If Allen goes number one, I will run around my block screaming in celebration. Still fully expecting Darnold to go #1
it would be an exciting time to be a fan especially for us. I feel like this is gonna happen, we are going to get Rosen. Don't wanna give my hopes up, but the writing feels like its on the wall.
There’s a whole lot of Mayfield smoke right now. Seems like they might be trying to cover up the Rosen interest that’s been floated all offseason.
Mac went to a lot of Rosens games, so the interest was clear earlier on. The due diligence on Mayfield reminds me of Watson last year. Jets had many visits for him, but ultimately passed on him.
Really enjoyed this. Mayfield/Rosen should be the pick. I will be equally happy (delirious, really) with either. Would be much less so with Darnold/Allen. In fact, if Mayfield/Rosen go 1-2, I will be bummed big time.
