Actually, it seems like you aren't a great talent evaluator. The fact that you actually seem to believe that that Patriot roster "isn't very talented", tells me you are either a complete Jet homer, or worse, you really don't understand what NFL talent is. You honestly believe the coach and the QB carry that team to 12 or 14 wins alone every year then you really just don't understand football.
It just the QB, and coach, they could line up by themselves and beat God and all his disciples. Brady & B.B. 105 God Jesus and all the Angels in heaven 14
nice way to deflect and attack the poster when you can't attack the argument. it's basically the forum equivalence of getting dunked on, then taking your ball and going home because of it. If you don't understand the importance of a good coach and good game plan, i really don't know what to tell you
Sorry but you are out of your league here. You want to cherry pick a 3 year period of bad draft picks out of 18 years and pretend that those are the norm and disregard the rest as the aberration because they counter your argument. That's not the way logic or statistical analysis work. You stated that B.B. wasn't a very good evaluator of talent. I countered with simply this, since 2001, in the bottom of the first round B.B.'s picks have produced 8 pro-bowlers, 3 solid starters and 2 verified busts. They had no picks two years and last season traded their 1st for Cooks. The bottom line is that no matter how hard you spin it, no GM in the last 18 years has produced more pro-bowlers out of the 1st round than B.B. If you want to look at the few years he didn't and pretend that's the norm than that's your folly.
cherry pick would imply i took 3 specifically picked poor years. That's not what i did. I took the 4 most recent years (not 3) we could judge. Those 4 years should be the "young core" of your team. I can care less what he did 18 years ago. Like i said he did draft really good up until about 2011 then it went down hill. he hasn't drafted well as of late at all.
So now you are changing your argument from "he isn't a very good evaluator of talent" to "he hasn't drafted well of late", were do you want to move the goal post next?
I never moved the goalpost. I said many posts ago he did draft well up to a point, but hasn't as of late. You just skipped it because you don't read and would rather fling shit at anyone who doens't agree with you
They normally have had about 9 picks in the draft since Belichik took over. Last few years not so much, although I notice they are back up to 8 this year.
I actually count 15 ellis abraham coles moss vilma miller rhodes furgeson mangold brad smith leon washington revis wilkerson richardson williams that doesn't include guys like harris, adams, maye, lee, anderson, snacks, enunwa, davis, powell, kerly, shonn green, nugent, dressen, cochery, thomas, lamont jordan, pennington who all had or are on pace to have, solid long careers in the NFL

This is your exact quote, "the pats have actually been pretty bad at drafting over the years. What stud players do they really have from drafts?" I then answered that question with over a dozen studs they drafted, but the problem with a guy like you is that when proven flatly wrong you will never admit it so there is really no reason to continue the debate. Believe what you like, it won't change the facts, or the results that end up on the field. You'll just come up with more contrived and lame excuses for them.
LOL, sure whatever, I'm happy for you that you like that list, some great players no doubt, but doesn't come close to the what the Pats have drafted at the bottom of each round in the same time period, If you think it does, then you're as oblivious to reality as is possible.

[/QUOTE] over the years didn't give a specific number. You just assumed it as all time and then got mad at me for it. then the next part what stud players do they have from drafts, that completely holds up. what great players are on their team that the drafted currently. brady? gronk? not much else outside of those 2 that are anything more then role players. you said the jets draft like shit but they drafted more pro bowlers then bill since 2000 since that was YOUR measure but of course you can't really say anything to that huh

Pats drafted Pro-Bowlers since 2000 #18 Tom Brady Rob Gronkoski Richard Seymour Logan Mankins Wilfork Matt Light Slater Gostkowski Jerod Mayo Asante Samuel Merryweather MCourty Koppen Jammie Collins Malcom Butler Donte Hightower Chandler Jones Ty Warren Jets Pro-Bowlers drafted since 2000 #9 Abraham Ellis Vilma Revis Manglod Washington Fergison Wilkerson Williams Once again you don't know what you're talking about. Debate over.
you were the one that gave pro bowl numbers for the pats not me. i just quoted you. 2ndly you left a bunch of jets probowlers off the list so who's the one lying?
