    1) Browns - QB Sam Darnold
Darnold should be the pick, I know the rumors are with them deciding between allen and darnold, but the closer we get, the more I feel like the browns will take the obvious move and take darnold

    2) NYG - RB Shaquon Barkley
With the browns choosing darnold, and rumors swirling that the only QB the giants would take at 2 is darnold, that makes them move onto taking an instant impact player instead. they could take chubb, but i don't feel he fits the bill for their new 3-4 defense. With barkely they get a guy who has very little chance to bust and an explosive playmaker on offense to help eli and pair with ODB

    3) NYJ - QB Josh Rosen
The Jets made their move up to 3 for a QB and that's what they will get, the 2nd best one in the draft. Rosen is the most NFL ready and could actually compete with Mccown and teddy for the starting job in 2018.

    4) CLE - DE Bradley Chubb
The browns GM recently came out saying he had dreams of a Chubb/Garrett Duo at DE, and his dreams come true. Chubb is the best DE in the draft and paired with garret their 1st overall pick from last year will make a very nice pass rush duo

    5) DEN - OG Quenton Nelson
The broncos window of opportunity is running low. They signed keenum while they still have a good offense and defense. it's a very win now move and QB Isn't going to be high on the list. They could grab rosen at this point, But i think they go with an immediate impact player who should be a pro bowler on their line for the next decade.

    6) BUF - QB Josh Allen (trade from colts)
The bills trade their 2 1st rounders (12th and 22nd overall) and a 2nd rounder (53rd overall) to move up to 6. The colts for the 2nd time in this draft benefit largely from teams needing QBs and get to stockpile even more picks to fill in all those holes around luck. after this trade they have 2 1st rounders, and 4 2nd rounders. a chance to land 6 starters. The bills get their FQB they've been gearing up for this whole offseason.

    7) TB - S Derwin James
The bucs need to bolster their secondary badly. James is rated higher then fitzpatrick by a lot fo teams now. The play making safety will be a huge boost to their defense as is a "BPS adjusted for need pick"

    8) Chi - CB Denzel Ward
Another team with secondary issues, the bears will take the best CB available at 8 and that happens to be ward

    9) SF - LB Trumaine Edmunds
The niners like any 3-4 team, love their LBers. Edmunds is a top 5 talent in this draft, so him slipping to 9 is a steal. No reason for them to pass on their BPA

    10) OAK - DT Vita Vea
The raiders tried to land suh but were unsuccessful. Vea is the next best thing. a freak athlete for his size he should anchor their d-line for the next decade.

    11) Mia - QB Baker Mayfield
Mia is in need of a QB. they aren't sold on tannehill, a converted WR they reached for in the 1st round. This time they will reach for baker. He's much more of a proven QB then tannelhill was when they drafted him, but he'll have to learn an NFL offense and overcome his size. Still he'll get the benefit of sitting a year or 2 behind tannehill

    12) Colts - WR Calvin Ridley (trade from BUF)
The colts have a ton of holes to plug. lucky for them with the trades they amde they went' from 2 picks in the 1st 2 rounds, to 6 picks in the 1st 2 rounds. So i think they take a BPA approach and pretty much no position outside of QB is off limits. With that said, they need to give luck someone to throw the ball to. it's not a great WR draft on the top end, but ridley is the best WR in the draft and worth the 12th Pick, I can also see them getting another WR in the 2nd to 3rd rounds. someone like calloway or st brown.

    13) WAS - S/CB Minkah Fitzpatrick
once thought of as a top 5 pick, fitzpatrick has dropped a little down big boards. still this versatile safety will be a big boost to a poor passing defense and a good value pick at 13

    14) GB - RB Ronald Jones
GB has been getting by with poor RB production but it's been getting rodgers killed. They lost some talent at WR as well letting jordy go, and their top RB is a converted WR. I believe they will take this explosive RB in the 1st round to take pressure off rodgers and add a playmaker on an offense that has been going downhill.

    15) ARI - QB Lamaar Jackson
The last QB left in the top 5 of the draft. He'll be overdrafted for sure and the cards are desperate for some QB help. Pairing him with David johnson in a few years is going to be a scary offense.

    16) BAL - LB Roquan Smith
The ravens need to build back up that defense and smith is a great value pick at 16. a very athletic LBer with sideline to sideline speed. They could play him inside or outside, but likely be an inside LBer for them in the 3-4 similar to the jets taking daron lee.

    17) LAC - DT Da'ron Payne
The chargers haven't had a good defense in quite some time and rivers clock is ticking. they need to give him some help in the form of not having to put up 30 points every week to win games. I think they take the BPA on defense and payne winds up being the BPA overall anyway. a 300lb monster with crazy power can collapse the inside for them for many years to come

    18) SEA - DT Taven Bryan
Seattle lost a lot of firepower from their legion of boom defense. They will look to rebuild it in the draft. Bryan is the BPA overall so makes sense for them to take him here

    19) DAL - OLB Harold Landry
A pass rushing DE who will move to OLB in the 3-4 and similar prospect to vic beasley. will pair on the defense with Lawrence giving them another edge rusher as well as flexibility if they can't afford Lawrence in the future.

    20) DET - OT Orlando Brown
detroit has some holes to address but they also need to improve their protection of stafford and their run game. taking the top lineman on the board will go a long way in getting that done

    21) CIN - ILB Leighton Vander Esch
Cincy has a high powered offense and a ton of RBs so they need to improve their defense. another BPA on defense in this draft

    22) IND - S Justin Reid (from BUF)
they improved on offense, now time for them to improve the defense. a fast athletic safety with good cover skills.

    23) NE - WR Courtland Sutton
they traded away cooks for this pick, a year after giving away a 1st rounder to get cooks. that leaves edlemen and hogan as their top 2 Wrs currently. Makes sense for them to replace cooks with a rookie WR

    24) CAR - CB Josh Jackson
I had carolina reaching for sutton here, but with NE taking him 1 spot earlier, the panthers will instead take the top CB on the board and look to grab a WR in the later rounds. someone like st brown or calloway could be had in the 2nd/3rd rounds.

    25) TEN - RB Derrius Guice
Ten is in need of a RB badly. Guice is also the BPA at this point. it just makes sense here

    26) ATL - DT Maurice Hurst
Atlanta has a high powered offense, but their defense is lacking badly. espcially on the d-line. Hurst fills a huge need for them

    27) NO - LB Rashaan Evans
another high powered offense that needs a defense to help them and evans is the BPA on that side of the ball

    28) PIT - OG Isiah Wynn
I could see them taking a QB, but with the top 5 already off the board, they won't reach and will likely look to the later rounds. a very well rounded team with few needs, they take the BPA and improve the o-line to give ben more time to throw and bell more space to run

    29) JAX - WR Deon Cain
They are badly in need of WR help. they lost both of their top WRs in free agency (hurns and robinson) and now lee is their number 1. Cain is a bit of a reach but fills a huge need

    30) Min - OG Will Hernandez
a very well rounded team who just splurged for kirk cousins at QB to make a SB run. hernandez is the BPA and improves the o-line to help cousins out and give cook more running room

    31) NE - DE Rasheem Green
if he stayed in college another year, he could be a top 10 pick in the 2019 draft. that kind of value is what NE loves in a pick. Belichick will find a way to utilize his talents right away

    32) PHI - S Ronnie Harrison
a team that just won the SB and didn't lose much talent at all, so they take the BPA at this point which i believe to be harrison. A big athletic safety who will improve their defense for another SB run

    Updated to reflect NE trade

04-11-18 Updated based on new rumors with the giants and browns
changes, Browns take darnold 1st overall over allen, giants take barkley, Jets take rosen, Allen falls to 6 with the bills.

Nice effort man! Well thought out.

Anything can happen but I can’t see us trading up with the Giants. I do believe the Giants will trade out of that spot. The likely candidates are the Broncos, Bills, Browns.

If Darnold goes 1 I could see the Broncos making a move for Allen. He’s exactly what Elway loves in QBs and he can learn under Keenum. Otherwise I can’t see them move up.

The Bills have a lot of ammo they could move up with and desperately need a QB. They could also get to #2 with a RG3 type price.

The Browns could jump from 4 to 2 too get both Barkley or Allen/Darnold. They have a lot of draft capital and they should try and make a big move to re energize their fan base.

For the Jets it’s down to Rosen or Mayfield. It’s a really tough choice because both have pro bowl type qualities and both have huge bust potential. Today I think Rosen is the guy.

So after #2, we have no picks until the 5th round? And on top of that next year, we have our #1 but then no picks until round 4? I'll pass.

Looks more like the Jets do Jets stuff and found a way to mess this draft up. By the way, Dorsey will be making the pick for the Browns this year; the same Dorsey that drafted Mahomes, Hunt, Kelce, Peters and others. Trust me if it's Allen, it won't be because it the Brownsy thing to do. The guy has build up a reputation in this league; he knows how to evaluate talent.

that's the version B, but in the same sense, it's worth it for darnold, especially when picks that late are a 50/50 chance to last in the NFL at best

The thing is, people tend to love other teams GMs and hate ours despite the same or worse sucessrate. dorsey drafted from 2013 to 2017 for KC. Now i cna't count the 2017 season, too soon and mahomes played 1 game and didn't even play that well, so not sure where all his love comes from, but regardless lets look at 2013 to 2016

    2013
1st T fisher (solid tackle who started almost every game for them. good pick)
3rd TE kelce (steal in the 3rd round, top 5 TE in the NFL)
the rest of his draft were busts though
3rd knile davis, nio johnson, sanders commings, eric kush, braden wilson, mike catapano

    2014
1 LB dee ford (semi bust. 4 years in the NFL and career 81 total tackles. he's played in 51 games and started 25. barely over 1.5 tackle per game. he did have 10 sacks in 2016 with 38 total tackles as an OLB. so did see some sucess as a situaitonal pass rusher. last yeah he has only 2 sacks in 6 games started and 13 total tackles before getting injured and landing on IR

the rest of his draft was full bust
    5 players (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th)

    2015
1st peters , stud CB but head case and traded away
    the rest of the draft busts (2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 7th)

    2016
no 1sts and landed tyrek hill in the 5th (steal) but the rest of the draft not very good
    (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 6th)

so really in 4 drafts all that's left to show is a stud TE, solid T, good speed WR and that's it. If that was mac's drafts, he'd be getting killed right now

    So, darnold is worth the 2 plus 3 2’s 2 3’s and a 4?
    I’d rather have rosen

sometimes you gotta pay to play.
essentially you have to think, is darnold worth 2 3rd rounders and a 4th rounder more then rosen? to me that answer is yes

Rosen just doesn't seem to be the type of QB, Dorsey wants. Hopefully Andy Reid rubbed off on him.

I didn’t see any qb worth the extra 3 2’s let alone what you are giving up to move one more spot. Also not sure darnold is better than rosen straight up.

I'd rather take the more sure thing in Rosen and not have to give up any more draft capital which will be needed next year to fill holes on the roster.

i mean both are really good and i'd be ecstatic with either one personally. I know the commodity of picks is high, but when you think about the bust potential it's not all that bad. i mean would you trade hack, smith, and ducasse for a FQB?
I'm ok with that as well. rosen or darnold and i'd be a happy camper. I'd live if we picked allen. I'd be pretty pissed if somehow we took mayfield

He's landed a few "studs", your word, and IMO a FQB; what "stud" or FQB has Mac landed? I'd take Dorsey over Mac any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Just because past picks busted doesn’t automatically mean future ones will. That’s a horrible argument on your part. I could just as easily equate that 2nd overall pick to Ryan leaf and ask why you would spend so much to draft him.

Mac has been able to find a few gems in the late rounds. Brandon Shell a good pass protector for RT for example. Hack was a mistake, but I wouldn't give up those picks for Darnold.

Devin Smith, who knows he might come back and be decent for the Jets. Fitz couldn't get him the ball.

he's had 2 more drafts then mac. Mahomes is way too soon to call anything. Mac has landed anderson, adams, maye, williams, lee, a pretty solid case overall in 1 less draft then dorsey. Maybe this year he can land a FQB as well. we won't know for another 3 years but he sure did everything he can to try so far
I know that, i'm just saying a pick is a gamble either way. sure it could also be 2 pro bowlers we gave up. If you are going to bet on a FQB might as well go all in

    Lets compare equal drafts

    2015
    dorsey
1st peters , stud CB but head case and traded away
    the rest of the draft busts (2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 7th)

    Mac
1st williams (been a pretty dam good DE for us and still with the team
the rest of the drafts busts pretty much (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th)

    Edge? mac
reason, while both GMs really only hit on 1 pick, the chiefs had 9 picks to the jets 6 picks. also the chiefs traded that player away while the jets have theirs as a starter

    2016
    Dorsey
no 1sts and landed tyrek hill in the 5th (steal) but the rest of the draft not very good
    (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 6th)

    Mac
Lee is a solid 1st round pick. started 31 out of 32 games in his 1st 2 years and playing well. also by far the bets pick we could have taken at that point. We also got out punter in the 7th, a starting RT in the 5th, and a starting WR as an UDFA

    edge? Mac
Reason, dorsey had 9 picks to macs 7. while dorsey didn't have a 1st rounder, he still whiffed on a 2nd, 3rd, and 2 4th round picks. he grabbed hill in the 5th as a steal, but anderson is just as good and we got him as an UDFA. we also landed 4 starters total in that draft

2017 is too soon to judge but both so far look good for mac and dorsey.

I like it, we must secure Darnold or Allen. No need to gamble and let the Giants take our guy if we can secure moving up a spot for a nice package. A bit less would be ideal.

Obviously in hindsight doing this trade ^ might put us in a tough spot to make this move .........

If this draft were to play out I would frantically be trying to trade up to grab Marcus Davenport DE from UTSA if I was Mac. If we could have had him at our pick in round 2 if we stayed put that would be very crushing and I may hate trading our 2 rounder to the Colts.

I’d also be pretty upset with losing our early 2nd round pick if Christian Kirk WR Texas A&M would have been available. I think he is gonna be a fantastic player.

    Good mock draft thanks!

That would be a lousy trade and would make the Jets look even more incompetent. Who trades up twice and gives up so much to move 4 spots. The dumb Jets that's who.
