lol always funny to read negatives on Qbs that went to the HOF. (or in this case are going to the HOF) still it's why i take those with a grain of salt. the video I posted clearly shows him running plays from UC and reading a D and making tight throws. the things you want to see out of a QB. i called it "mixed" because he did run a lot of shotgun as well, but it was far from 100%

this si also why i've been saying several times over for people here to "watch the film themselves" and not go by scouting reports

If you’re really an Allen fan then break down this film. There’s more bad throws in this one game then Baker had all year.

I'm not an allen fan, and i already broke down one of his worst games (as requested) here http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/josh-allen-vs-iowa-every-play-broken-down.90249/

What i asked is for someone to give me a mayfield game to break down, but i guess I'll find one on my own since everyone hyping him refuses to do so. and yes i'm going to take one vs a decent defense

Iowa wasnt one of Allen’s worst games. It’s actually one of his better games throwing the ball as he was at least fairly accurate (57.5%) and didn’t get a lot of help.

The Oregon game was the worst and the Boise State was also pretty bad.

Is there really a point to giving you a Baker game to analyze at this point. I don’t think you have the ability to be impartial. For instance, the UTEP game Baker was 19-20, 3 tds - 0 int over 300 yards... most of his throws were perfect and he did an amazing job of avoiding pressure... still I bet you will be hyper critical of his throws and degrade him for a taking a sack, etc..
there’s really no point now for you to be analyzing any of their films. You’ve already pre-determined what each guy is.

Let’s just agree, Baker is not a qb for you and your evaluation (whether it’s conscious or unconscious bias) will show that.

    Here you go:

    https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/baker-mayfield-1/gamelog/

So, out of curiosity, I dropped all of Mayfield's games into an excel spreadsheet, sorted by "rate" column so that the lowest rating was displayed first and the highest last. Then, I eliminated every game except his 25 worst games (statistically). Here are the results:

What I found fascinating about this was the statistics of Mayfield's 25 worst collegiate games vs. Allen's entire collegiate career (also 25 games):

    https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/josh-allen-7.html

    Mayfield: 557-857 (65.0%) - 6577yd, 48 TD, 22 INT
    Allen: 365-649 (56.2%) - 5066yd, 44 TD, 21 INT

Adding Mayfield's 26th and 27th worst games to compare to Darnold's entire 27 collegiate games:

    https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/sam-darnold-1.html

    Mayfield: 596-916 (65.1%), 7225yd, 55 TD, 24 INT
    Darnold: 549-846 (64.9%), 7229yd, 57 TD, 22 INT

And adding Mayfield's 28th through 30th worst games to compare to Rosen's entire 30 game collegiate career:

    https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/josh-rosen-1.html

    Mayfield: 668-1015 (65.8%), 8389yd, 64 TD, 26 INT
    Rosen: 712-1170 (60.9%), 9340yd, 59 TD, 26 INT

    Weird.

EDIT: Bolded the games against his top 5 competition, so you know exactly which games to go to for your mental breakdown.

No offense but your evaluations are not for me -
Allen’s throws are almost all perfect (per you) and Bakers throws are almost all easy (per you).

Even when Baker does something good, you find things to challenge. Quite the opposite of when Allen does something bad, you find an excuse.

    Ex.
Bakers td strike (it was a fantastic throw):
1st and 10, SG, PA, clean pocket, plenty of time (5 seconds from snap to throw), throws deep (about 60 yards in air) to a WR in man coverage downfield. a little underthrown and in front of the WR but WR makes the adjustment on it for a TD. Good throw but not a great one

Allen bad decision that results in a sack (in red zone):
SG, 3rd and 10, defense blows up the o-line, he avoids the sack at first and could have chucked it away, but goes back towards the middle of the field looking to make a big throw downfield and ultimately gets sacked. Normally i'd say he should have thrown it away after avoiding the 1st sack, but since it was 3rd down hard to fault him for trying to avoid a punt in a 0-0 game. They kicked a FG to take a 3 point lead anyway (3-0).

I’d rather just watch the films, analyze the stats, metrics, take NFL history into account and form my own opinions.

I’m fine with any of these 4 qb’s, but would rank them all above Allen.

you are way to into stats which are meanigngless. no need for a mental breakdown. i can watch a player play, i don't need stats which at the college level are meaningless. too many variables, but an expert like you should know that already

I get you man. We need to ignore:

    1) Statistics and Metrics
    2) Analysis from anyone not approved by you.
    3) Any game video not approved by you.
    4) Our eyes.

Thank you for being here to be the light in our darkness.

As opposed to an expert like you?

You don't need anything but your eyes to figure it out.

    And maybe a stopwatch.

    What a fucking joke.

To be fair, I’m sure (not 100%) if you looked at Graham Harrell’s or Colt Brennan’s 25-30 worst games, they too might eclipse Allen, Rosen, and Darnold. Some of these spread guys put up incredible #’s...

I’m just going to ignore you since it’s obvious you don’t really know what you are taking about, don’t know how to break down film + ask for, but can’t take any criticism. You just want to tell everyone they are wrong. Not sure why you post here.

You really possess that little self knowledge?

No wonder your posts are so bad.

you can give critism, but you can't take 2 plays and just say "i don't agree" out of 40ish total. again, i have the threads, if you have any specific gripes you are free to elaborate.

Come on, Allen can't taste that good.

Let's get down to it here. So you really think you haven't acted hostile to multiple posters in the past day? Do you really think you haven't tried to come (don't get excited) off as an expert to people in the past day and a half?

Is not hard to make you look dumb, little guy.

You've done so much of my job for me.
