Good call Dawg. Basically a 99.999999999% chance our pick will be one of those guys so we all might as well get behind whoever it is.
We could use some of that attitude here. A high standard of focus & performance has been needed on that side of the ball since Pennington left. I don't think he's a "yay rah rah" type of leader but he will speak for the offense as well as the team. He's not gonna back down from the likes of Mehta or Bellicheat. He told Rich Eisen he flat out didn't like the Patriots..how do ya not love that as a Jets fan?
Well done. Once again I believe Rosen is the superior talent. His frame is a bit skinny but good height to see over the OL. What I like mostly about Rosen is his vision from the pocket and making quick decisions where to go with the football. I like his throwing motion and that he can make all the throws with it. What scares me is the concussions but that’s not what we are talking about...
What do you make of Rosen’s own coach saying he wouldn’t take him 1st in this draft (basically because toughness reading between the lines) + some of the other comments he’s made about Rosen lately (needs a coach who challenges him, may not put the work in, millennial attitude). I think Rosen is going to drop a bit + seems the Jets made this move because they love 3 not 4 qb’s. Baker/Allen have done nothing but help their stocks in workouts, I sort of believe Rosen is the one out at this point... http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-netwo...oach-I-would-take-Sam-Darnold-at-No-1-overall
Rosen has pure talent but what I have said all along his injuries scare me... This draft for QBs is an absolute mystery because every QB has traits that can make them pro bowlers but also have traits that can make them busts... hopefully we pick the right one
His coach could be helping him avoid the Browns. The Giants or Jets (yes...the Jets) would be much better places to land then the Browns.
his coach said he would take darnold over rosen. I would too and it's likely Cleveland does. it's a pretty honest assessment. darnold is the best QB in the draft, it's not a slight on rosen. Objectively i'd take tom brady over any QB in the NFL, it doens't mean rodgers or ben sucks. There can only be 1 "best" and for this draft it's darnold. I don't think it's a slight to say that
Back in December, there was chatter that Rosen didn't want to be selected by the Browns. Fast forward 3 months, and his former coach suggests that Darnold would be a better fit in blue-collar Cleveland, and Rosen is best suited for NY. I think that's more than coincidence.
Rosen is either gonn be Rick Mirer or Alex Smith is how I am feeling about him. Baker is either Johnny Football or Doug Flutie. If it comes to those 2 I take Rosen, really hope it’s Darnold or Allen!
Man honestly on Darnold I’m seeing a Montana type QB. Allen I’ll go with the Wentz and Big Ben comparisons.
Darnold does not remind me of Montana...Come on man Rosen has the tools and poise, the poise is fucking so critical in the league. Dude can command the offense and has very good timing. He reminds me of Carson Palmer / Kurt Warner Darnold feels like Steve Young to me without the speed. Allen is like Steve McNair or Warren Moon
Darnold: Best case Aaron Rodgers, worst case Mark Sanchez. Rosen: Best case Matt Ryan, worst case Kevin Kolb (concussions). Mayfield: Best case Drew Brees, worst case Johnny Manziel. Allen: Best case Carson Wentz, worst case Christian Hackenberg.
As long as Wentz bounces back from his injury, he will be amazing. He would have won MVP last year if he didn't get hurt.
They had the same college coach who said it’s not fair to compare Allen to Wentz. Wentz had rare intangibles/intelligence/leadership + more consistent mechanics, a better prospect for sure.
You could be right + sometimes these guys go out of their way to make it seem like they are not biased... Still I can’t name another coach who does that to a player they like (is their guy). The few things I’ve heard him say makes me think he doubts Rosen or resents how difficult he was to coach. Draft can’t get here soon enough...
