It’s going to be a year of development and stout D. I really like our DBs and I think this will or DL some more time to get to the QB. I think the offence will have a lot of new rookies who will need time to develop but will be exciting to watch.
The Jets will select whatever QB falls to them and they will act like he was their guy all along. Then that guy will get an early chance to start in 2018, and he will get sacked mercilessly for an entire season because the Jets are stupid. Then a Jets defensive player will get arrested mid season for something that a normal person would get imprisoned for 20 years, but this guy will get a fine and probation. Then Quincy Enunwa will get hurt for the season running head first into a LB. Then Woody Johnson will pen a heartfelt letter to PSL owners about how America wants the Jets to be successful. Then, in week 15, Todd Bowles will resign, and many Jets fans will rejoice. Then, the Jets will hire their next failure HC. Then, fans will hope we tank for QB. Then, it will be 2022.
They'll be better than that because NFL rules, man. Did you see how GREAT McCown was? QBs are given free reign in this league now. The shittiest QB can throw for 3500 without blinking.
We draft rosen (and turns out to be what i expect) Sign suh Robby Anderson is back and stays outta trouble to add with eyunwa TP kearse 9-10 wins
Yeah, I saw that. I am not sure if the Jets have the worst roster in the NFL, but I get how someone could feel that way.
8-8 if everything goes smooth. team is still very young and still developing, it takes time. Just show me improvements and hunger... that's all you can ask for from a young group.
Now is a good time to bump this thread. Add Sam Darnold and the 2018 Draft class to the mix. I still basically feel the same. If Darnold starts Week 1, I am not sure if (8-8) is fair expectations, but if he plays great it could be. I think whichever QB starts, changes the expectations. This is a young team though. If you had Sam the keys, it might be more realistic to go back a couple games and say (6-10) to (8-8) ish. On the other hand, can Bowles really miss the playoffs 4 straight years and keep his job? That is ridiculous, yet highly possible.
Looking through the schedule it's hard to see more then 6 wins, unless one of our QB's has a great year. Let's break the season up into 4 parts and I'll try to be optimistic and generous to our jets 1. @Det, Mia, @Cle, Jax I'm fairly confident we go 2-2 here and I think that's fair, I actually think we could steal the opener in Detroit but might drop one to browns or fins, Jags will likely decimate us in a revenge game in their home. 2. Den, Ind, Min, @Chi I think this is probably going to be 1-3 my thought process is we split between Denver and Indy, lose to minnesota and Chicago seems like a place we would struggle on the road. Curent record at midway point 3-5... 3. @Mia, Buf, Ne, @Ten This could be another 1-3 stretch but I think we could split Buf and Mia Of course lose to the pats but maybe snag one vs the titans because I think they are overrated. I'll be very generous and give the Jets 2-2 here Current record 5-7 4. @Buf, Hou, GB, @Ne Think this looks like 1-3 to me. Maybe they catch one of GB or NE resting players and go 2-2 but I doubt it. Final record 6-10 once again
I have NO expectations.. I am happy we got Sam and semi happy with Mac Bowles will ruin things so I want him gone..terrible CS!!
That should be unacceptable and either Bowels or Macc get's fired. They seem too comfortable and that was before the 2 year extension. They need some goals to meet or else its the unemployment office.,.
Looking at the schedule I see 3 wins with McCown as QB. The unknown is when or if Darnold is playing this year.
Great post! I don't see the Jets as a playoff contender this year, barring a large number of things going perfectly for them. If I had to guess now, I'd put them in the 7-9 to 8-8 range, assuming the team stays healthy. So many changes were made this offseason, particularly to the offense, that there will continue to be growing pains. The team appears to be trending in the right direction, and I'm more concerned that this continues to be the case than anything else. When the Jets do lose games, I want those to be competitive losses, not the blowouts that are the hallmark of a shit team. The Jets should be competitive in every single game. I'll be concerned if they are not. If Darnold does play, I expect rookie growing pains. It is natural, and it is OK. Just don't get the kid killed behind an incompetent offensive line.
