So, Kenny Vaccarro is still available. I know we were wanting the honey badger, so my question is because of this. Do we think Vaccaro could fill a similar role that we would have had the badger fill? Curious for the boards thoughts, and I ask because while I am familiar with Vaccaro I am not too familiar with his style of play. My perception is he has a similar style as the badger but I could be totally off in this. Thoughts?
meh, may be on the cheap. I don't know a lot about him but, from what i understand, he was pretty underwhelming in NO. And i'm not sure if he will fit the scheme that we run especially since we'll probably want to keep Maye and Adams on the field as much as possible
What Honey Badger brought was a ton of versatility and playmaking ability. Literally every snap he could be lined up somewhere else. I’d love to know what happened with him, did we offer a contract, did he just choose to go to Houston? I’m finding it hard to believe Jets couldn’t offer him a better contract than he signed if they really wanted him. I don’t think Vaccaro brings any of the versatility or playmaking ability as Matthieu did and with 4 safeties under contract I doubt there will be much interest.
I had high hopes for Vaccaro coming out of school but it appears he has way more incomon with Calvin Prior than Eric Thomas. I'd hard pass on adding him to the Jets. We dont need an over hyped box saftey.
Tre Boston is still unsigned as well if I'm not mistaken. To be honest, if there's any truth that the NFL owners are being petty with Eric Reid (not saying they are or aren't), we should fully use that to our advantage and sign him for the low. I know safety isn't a priority but cheap, quality depth is always a plus.I personally could care less if he stands or kneels for the anthem. Make plays for my football team and a discounted rate.
Tre Boston is slow as molasses and not that good. I wouldn't waste $10 of cap space on him. The roster spot is too valuable.
