I read that in an earlier post but can't remember seeing the actual conversation anywhere oddly ? Not so good if you get caught forgetting what you have said, hell I hope there is never a test on the shit I type
I will fall out of my chair ( though Im sure ill be standing) if the Jets pick Mayfield. There is no chance on this earth that Macc traded all those picks for him. Its Rosen or Allen. Period.
Not that you care but I can tell you what your problem is. You post too much. Simple as that. You post your opinion on every single comment by every single poster regardless if youove already posted it 38 times before. Let the conversation breathe once in a while. Please.
Allen is bum. Mayfield is 3x the player that Allen is. Look at Allen's tape and game logs and tell me with that a straight face that he is worthy of a first round pick. The kid is TERRIBLE.
Rosen for sure, MAyfield and Darnold will get some slack, but Allen is going to be a lightening rod, fair or not.
doesnt matter what you or I think. Macc did not trade up for a 6 foot spread O QB....I believe he likes Rosen the best and Allen's size and arm strength will be a great consolation prize if Rosen is gone
And I have to believe Macc would think there was a pretty good shot at Mayfield being there st 6 with rumors Buffalo loves Allen and the early rumor that the Browns loved Allen. If you follow the timeline of everything, you should come to the conclusion that Macc did not trade picks for Mayfield
ask and you shall receive http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/jets-acquire-3-overall-pick.90145/page-58#post-3672501 he claimed that he's been saying we should take baker in the 1st for months and linked to that thread as proof where i pulled the screenshot from. he outed himself as a liar, I didn't even need to dig. I made the comment that months ago nobody here was saying he was a first rounder and he claimed he's been saying it all along. of course, he never replied to that post and instead insulted me to others
We will see about that. Josh Allen should be drafted in the 3rd round. If we take him at #3 overall it'll be the worst decision this franchise has ever made.
well the good news is Id also fall out of my chair if the Giants take a QB so Rosen will be sitting there. I really really hope Macc takes the Rosen
No body loves Allen. Everyone knows the kid belongs in a dumpster. It's all a smoke screen. Allen will be the 4th QB off the board, easily. Jackson and Rudolph are both better than the kid that is the epitome of 12 completions, 21 attempts, 162 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Playing at a school like Wyoming, my cat could perform better.
He didn't really say he was a second rounder though, he said if he was available at the Jets 2nd round pick then they had to take him, it is a little ambiguous but it also certainly doesn't say I think Mayfield is a top 5 QB either. I will let you both argue the semantics of it if and when he unblocks you of course
I agree with everything you say here. Learning to take snaps under center, calling plays in the huddle, learning new footwork, and learning a different offense (especially the WCO with more complex terminology) makes it harder, and accounts for some of the guys failing. That said, I think we need to keep a couple of things in mind. One, I think a sizable percentage of those collegiate spread offense QBs who fail in the NFL fail because they have popgun arms. Guys like Kliff Klingsbury, Graham Harrell, and others. Still others fail who often ran when they were pressured and who don't have very accurate arms. Guys like RG3, Tajh Boyd, Jordan Lynch, Tim Tebow and others. Take those two classes of players out, and I'd like to see what the fail rates were like. The other thing is that the reads in the NFL are so much more complex than in college, even beyond the point of the number of reads or progressions. NFL defenses are more complex, and they do a better job of disguising blitzes and coverages. NFL QBs are expected to make pre- and post-snap reads and quickly make a decision and get the ball out. They are also expected to be able to audible out of bad plays. I'm not sure how many collegiate QBs are expected to audible out of plays.
