2" of snow and sleet in central Nassau county, with flurries right now. They're still saying 9+", but it's hard to believe at this point. We shall see.
Jonny ---the storm even though you are seeing ZERO flakes as Jay said might not ever make it to you. The radar had me under heavy bands for hours yet all I saw was lite snow it was evaporating before it ever got to the ground long story short there are like 8 hours or so left to this thing and it appears to be getting its act together as I type but will believe that when I see it . I can tell you this that the NWS believes it as they just a short while ago issued a warning for an additional 6 to 9 inches ---nope not making it up lol,,,,,,bust bust bust ? maybe but not just yet so far its definitely an under performer
Cman I hear you,,I think Jonny is getting snow rite now and I think we call have a shot at more from here n out time will tell
Jonny u snow hater you what is it doing in your neck of the woods right now? I know that many parts of CONN are currently getting snow---the storm is still getting its act together maybe a surprise or 2 yet
sorry guys...been running around. Yeah....some busts especially north it seems. CMAN over performed and I would NOT have guessed that. Jonny you have to be getting snow now according to the radar.
I am happy to report I am leaving now to take my kid to her soccer practice. Obviously its indoor but we could actually play outside if needed
Jay "they are just brutal when things don't go as planned " I feel like Arnold in Kidergarten Cop " their horrible " lol,,,,I thought Jonny would be under snow right now too looking at the radar----looks like this thing is getting organized down by Cape May--am I wrong ? NWS calling for additional 6 - 9 are these bands coming or are we all on crack and that includes the radar that lied to me all day,,,thoughts Jayster ps throw me a life jacket as I still think these bands are coming ???
lol...its a brutal crowd in the weather business...jonny is great though. You have to stick with what you see bud. The only thing..and I'm not pointing this out for you because I got sucked in for about an hour this morning too...but the only thing you have to remember with models ESPECIALLY this time of the year, is they do not have common sense. 32 degrees equals snow..or sleet. They have the ability to take temps above the surface and say that it will snow when its 35...and rain when its 30. What they can not do is read a calendar..and to get a huge storm in later March...you need the ingredients for January. Very cold...and overnight preferably. You did friggin great with this one...you saw something you liked 10 days ago. And you are correct..for north jersey, the NWS is currently still forecasting another 4-8" from here on. So...it will snow and it will get dark..and the sun will go down....it will begin to add up.
and one last thing...while numbers will not be as high....the sun is about to set...and the snow will start to pile up for many.
