The radar has been very confusing to me. I mean the whole state of NJ is almost green...which indicate minimum..inch an hour snow. Yet nobody is on here saying they have close to 6. Lets see the next couple hours.
I will say this looking to the west...this thing is really not moving and there is no back end snows coming to an end to the west which tells me that its very likely at least 10 more hours of snow. That 8pm ending time needs to be pushed back.
Ok...gotcha...yes on the northern most fringes up by you and FJF...but yours is breaking down...and the heavier snow should begin within the next hour.
So if the radar is showing precip right on top of me, which it does but its not doing ANYTHING, I assume that means the precip is getting eaten up by teh dry air and not hitting the ground?
I'm by the beach on the North shore of Long Island in Centerport and it's been coming down for a while now, I'd say we got at bout 4" so far. Very heavy and wet
Exactly...now that usually doesn't last long...its called virga not to be confused with the blue pill in your closet. And that shouldn't be looked at the reason for this system not producing. Is it snowing now Jon?
Man Jon...watching your radar and that green heavy line doesn't want to get to you...think it will eventually break down and start to come down hard. I will give you this, do not think a foot will be hit by you unless that line gets to you in the next hour. If it takes longer...cut the numbers in half perhaps. I wonder how much brook has..that will tell the story for those NE of him.
Jay ,,,I hear you but another thing is the temps have risen I am at 33 right now,,,,so it started snowing a lil harder but now I'm warmer. Everyone everywhere is saying the same thing "wheres the snow " or " its a bust " Grass and cars white for a long time now but nada on the concrete---will-keep u posted brother but that radar is fibbing as far as the amounts,it has amazed me all day because I swore it would stick if cold regardless of rates and have watched it a lot .I still think it will come harder and win out ,,,also agree about the end time its crawling ---keep em coming
That is crazy...if it doesn't start in the next hour...your numbers cant hit. It will snow...but that heavy green is where you get the over an inch an hour stuff..its not budging...your radar: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=okx&loop=yes
I hear you CBG...but the bust word is something I mentioned. I'm not doubting snow rates will increase for you...but so much precip has fallen to people south of you..and its just not adding up. This is a lesson...NOT TO SAY SOME WILL not get big numbers...but a lesson..the fear of it being late march with marginal temps...go with your instincts. Lets see what happens between 3-6 pm. This will not clear out until midnight...so lets see.
i gotta say it looks like the the master had a better take on this one than the apprentice, CBG. Jay was far more worried about a bust than you were. And lets face it, its already a bust compared to some numbers I heard here last night.
I get you with how hard it is in March to get accumulating snow with sun angle and all--The thing that really threw me is we had marginal temps for storm # 2 and I got over a foot of snow,,,it was the rates,,,I thought lesser rates and cold ( it was below freezing most of today ) would do it ---I was wrong will keep u posted but that radar is fibbing because many people even way South of me don't have a lot or nothing at all-----will keep u posted --keep em coming
CT govenor douchebag said moderate to heavy snow for southern CT between 5 and midnight....6-10 inches but 10 is a stretch
