It's coming down pretty good by me, and sticking on lawns and cars. No accumulation yet on streets and sidewalks.
Yeah...when I saw it start sticking in Manhattan, its a good barometer of where the numbers will go. 10am and sticking so...lol..watching the weather channel in the background, they have gone from 12-16 in the city back down to 5-8...and I'm sure they will start to crawl the numbers back up. Panic is what gets weather people. I mean, this thing still has over 12 hours to go for almost everyone..so its best to wait until around 3pm...halfway point, to see if it will bust. If the city has lets say, 6-8 at 3pm, my guess is the foot mark will be hit. We will see.
Here is a good radar for you FJF...really fighting the drier air up north...will have to see if this continues to crawl northward. radar: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=ENX&product=NCR&overlay=11101111&loop=yes
IF FM IS AROUND....would love to know whats going on in L.I. right now...man...look at the yellows. I would think its heavy sleet because if its snow, that is over 2" an hour stuff: LONG ISLAND RADAR: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=okx&loop=yes
Jay im all over this it is Snowing in parts of LI and it is also changing back and forth to sleet there-----but it is lite years ahead of the past storms as far as coverage
Fjay nada here also but I am not concerned------YET---ps it was 32 a short while ago when I began posting currently 30 degrees at the CBG weather lab
Its possible CBG. Very possible....but once that total transfer to the coast takes place..areas west of I95 will shut down pretty quickly tonight. I cant see how this gets past midnight..still think 8-10
FJAY-------------------------> " LET THE PIGEONS LOOSE " it started here minutes ago and IS STICKING on deck and cars,,,,very lite but only a matter of time. Keep us posted on whats doing by you!
Federal facility closed due to weather that's going to happen. 10:50am and nothing but a little sleet so far. Good call.
Jay,,I'm told 2 inches in downtown NYC----not measured but estimated someone said they thought a little more--FYI
Its been snowing pretty good here in Fair Lawn NJ for the last hour. It's sticking to the grass but nothing on the roads and sidewalks.
Im right by JFK and we had straight sleet for about 3-5 hours, which accumulated to easily a half inch of ice, and now its heavy fat flakes
Everything is closing around Redding. All the schools had an early closing schedule for 12:30 and they all just rolled that forward to 11:20. Plows and power trucks are roaming around already. It's like they're preparing for the storm of the century when we're only going to get a foot or so. I guess the last two storms caught them on the back foot and this time they want to be out there early, just in case.
