I think Mid-Western Connecticut has been hit by the 3 storms as bad as anybody, maybe excepting coastal Massachusetts. We've been smack dab in the middle of the snow band for the last two storms and it's looking like we're going to be there again. My nephews were hooting and hollering at the first sets of snow days but now they're looking at getting out of school in late June and not so happy.
WABC7 news is 30 minutes and like usual they tease the weather at the start and then give more detail at the end. They upped the forecast for NYC in the same broadcast from 9-10" to 10-14", didn't even admit they changed it either
Models still have disagreement over exact track,,,I will probably stay up for Euro,,,,,,a few models shifted direction and cut back on precipitation ,,,others added precipitation---->this is insane that so close to the event there is so much disagreement,,,,,time will tell its coming
Euro said drier and track more EAST----a few other models last night said drier-------The Nam an hour ago said not drier and not so far East and others said similar ,,,,very tough to figure out what will happen when this is going on but I just don't love or trust the Euro as we have in the past and Nam although flip flopping has handled the dynamics of storms like this better recently,,,,,,The Ukie was a decent hit last night and thats my personal favorite------Im sticking to my guns I think this is still a BIG event and the bigger snow bands will set up depending on track ----thoughts ?????
Again, a radar to help you today. Remember...lighter blues is light snow. Once you get to darker blues..moderate snow...greens are heavier snow. Yellows? Yellows today will either be very very heavy snow...or sleet. Use the arrows top left to move to your location. Hit the loop button to refresh under "reflectivity" on the left. Refresh often. The radar is time stamped. Its the best for picking up when the heavier stuff is coming: RADAR: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=dix&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=no If you are showing up outside the circle....it will show its not doing anything outside...move the arrows top left.
I would have to think closer to 12 Brook. If you do not end up being where the band sets up...8-12. If you do? Watch out.
First heavy bands setting up in central N.J. from Trenton to Jersey beaches...storm is exploding now to the south...its coming north. USE THIS RADAR: https://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=DIX&product=NCR&overlay=11101111&loop=yes
Looking at the radar this morning its beginning to look like the word bust I used last night? Toss it...this is a monster of a storm. Incredibly not as strong as the previous ones with wind. Still wind...but not as explosive. Where this one will blow away the other 3 is that its slow...and it is focusing all its efforts on precip. The thing is juiced...and the numbers by tonight for many will be HUGE.
Greens on radar exploding in NJ...and NJ will be where this storm does most of its damage..through NYC...L.I. and 2/3 rds of CT. Other areas will get close to a foot...but the numbers for NJ will be incredible considering 8 to 1 ratios. Very tough to get over 10" of snow with those ratios but areas will get double..and more.
Keep em coming Jay,,local weather guys are clueless and all over the place,, I'm in the car and Q1043 literally just said that WE ARE ON THE LOWER END OF THE ACCUMILULATIONS ,,,lol that sounds like 2 to 4 or 3 to 6 ,,people are really gonna be shocked by this one their guards are down
