it's also worth pointing out, that mac tried to trade into the 1 and 2 spot as well. meaning he must really love rosen, darnold, or both. he could still look to move up again during the draft. the giants if they don't plan on taking a QB could easily net an extra pick from us but since we have no 2nds to offer it would probably cost us next years 1st and we'd get back the giants next years 2nd to move up 1 spot. the giants would get an extra first next year and still get their guy and it would prevent someone from leap frogging us.
i'd much rather slide back in the 2019 draft a bit to ensure rosen or darnold then to have to settle for one of the other guys. plus by the looks of it, their 2nd rounder would be pretty high

I hate to even say this, but it is possible that Macc believes Cleveland wants Allen and that's why he tried to trade for their #1.
I believe it's also possible that Macc traded up to 3 to entice the Cardinals to trade them Honey Badger a couple weeks after he was released. It's only slightly dumber.
That's fine what that keyboard turd thinks, but when real legitimate spotters of NFL talent with decades in the business see the red flags that they (and I) do, then perhaps there is something to it. Did you notice the bad footwork in some of those clips? He IS slight. And no the accuracy isn't there. Career 57% completion percentage. That's worrisome. Running QB's get beat up.
I think you have to explore the option to get 1 always. Especially when you're already at 6. Might as well go all the way up and get your guy. But Allen is a guy who may be there at 6 and I just don't see him going down that road again after the Hackenberg project (which looks like a failure) It'll be Rosen, Mayfield, or Darnold. What order they have that in...who knows?

Just saw Vacchiano say on SNY that he was told it's Darnold, Rosen, and Allen that they like. Dudes in the building and not a dickwad like the rest of them. I, at this point, want Darnold. Somehow.
I think they're getting either Darnold or Rosen then. Both won't be off the board by 3. I think Cle knows neither of those two kids want any part of them. Rosen may be too opinionated for the Giants. I still think they'd take Mayfield over Allen. But if it's Allen at 3 I'd be majorly pissed. It would't shock me if the Jets were high on Mayfield but keeping it quiet. Last year the were supposedly high on Trubisky but it was a bluff

Well if that's true, then maybe that's who they've been waiting for since last year when they passed over Mahomes and Watson. darnold, Rosen, and Allen were the consensus "can't miss" QBs coming out this year, and while they were all exposed somewhat as having flaws, they're still at the top of their list apparently. Mayfield is the wildcard , and while I like him almost as much as I like Rosen, if Macc was going to draft a guy like him, why didn't he do it last year when he had Mahomes if he wanted him? I'm hoping that Cleveland, or whoever drafts #2, takes Allen, and saves us.
