I really wish I knew what the Browns were thinking. I wouldn't be shocked if they liked Allen or Mayfield more than Darnold. Also wouldn't be shocked if they drafted Barkley at 1 so the Giants couldn't at 2. If that happened, you'd assume the Giants would trade down instead of just drafting Nelson with so many QB needy teams wanting to trade up. So at minimum: 1 QB will be off the board no matter what when the Jets draft. Could be 2. If it is 2 I would assume it's Darnold and Rosen, thus Mayfield becomes a Jet.
We should absolutely make noises that we are considering Barkley. We may get some draft capital back if we can convince the Browns to trade to #3 to take Barkley. They have to take a QB at #1 now with all the QB-needy teams lining up.
I think Rosen is the best QB, but I was reminded of something today and it makes me think the Jets WON'T take him: The picture of him wearing a "Fuck Trump" hat. Given Woody's close friendship with Trump, I think Woody would "Cut off his nose to spite his face" because of that picture. It's going to be Mayfield or Allen for the Jets.
I didn't vote, because I basically throw like a girl - and I am one - and I will miss every target imaginable. I also throw lefty off of my left foot and they're terrible clunkers. I'm sure I'll be the Jets #1 pick in the draft. My phone is ringing off the hook right now. To pre-empt anyone who might bust my hump, power to girls in sports, fukk cheerleaders parading their tits. Oh, hah, I forgot to add that Krystal C., one of the Jets Flight Whores, won a wage lawsuit against the Jets. The Buffalo Bills decided to just get rid of their cheering idiots in a similar suit prior. Haha. Not to be mean, but Doug Flutie's daughter, is, er, sorta dumbish.
I went Darnold. He has all the tools and will greatly benefit from our new patience plan of sitting a year to learn behind McCown and Bridgewater. Rosen's concussions and family worth concern me. He gets hurt once or twice and he may retire.
1. Darnold. The total package and lowest bust risk. But mechanics need work and he throws too many INTs. 2. Rosen. Best pure passer and highest ceiling. But concussions could drive him out of the NFL. 3. Mayfield. Good spread QB, very accurate but numbers are inflated and has character concerns. 4. Allen. Tremendous arm and physical talent, but QBs with his profile don't tend to succeed in the NFL.
We don't have a second round pick!!!!!!We don't have a second round pick until the year 2020!!!!!!!!Nobody is getting drafted in round two until 2020 unless trades are made.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If they didn't make the trade, they can draft a serviceable RB in round 2, so it makes zero sense to trade up for anything other than a QB.
I admit, I am a noob when it comes to college QB's. I don't follow college football and don't know how college games translates into pros. That said, why so little votes for Allen?
I want our three picks back....Watch Baker Mayfield be there at 6 .Macs gonna look like a fucking idiot...He should have just went with Mayfield at 6 and kept the three damn picks.
He once shook the hand of Mark Sanchez? And it transferred Sanchez's magical failing powers over to Allen?
This is pretty much me too for the Jets. I think overall I would flip Mayfield to 4 and Allen to 3, but for the Jets: can you really take a QB with accuracy issues after drafting Hack? I don't think so. I like Allen though. How many concussions has Rosen had? That is obviously a big issue if it's bad. Especially in 2018. Darnold is great. Not even worried about INT's. His O-line sucked this year at USC.
Allen is a big athletic guy with a gun for an arm. So naturally scouts love him. But he's inaccurate and didn't play very well in college (though his teammates didn't help). And most big athletic guys with guns for arms, who the scouts loved but were inaccurate and didn't play well in college, didn't play well in the NFL either.
I voted Rosen as he's been my #1 since last summer... The off the field/intangible stuff will need further research but none of the stuff being said really scares me off at this stage. If anything it was a lot of the same kind of stuff that was always said about Joe Willie..Rosen is a free thinker & a bit immature..but I don't question his love for the game & I think he can be a good leader.
