It will be interesting. Reports say Jets attempted to go higher. If the Giants turned down “overpayment”, what are they expecting?
Well I'm not an expert, nor do I have access to all the data and info about Allen that Macc has, but from what I've seen and read, there is no way Allen can start this year, and maybe not even the second year, and if that is true, there is no way Macc can afford to wait that long for a return on his investment. That said, it woudn;t surprise me if he takes Allen, who I see as Hack 2.0.
They are expecting Barkley. I think they stood pat knowing they have a shot at Barkley at #2. If I were a Giants fan and they traded out of that spot I would be pulling my hair out knowing they could have had OBJ and Barkley in that offense. Giants aren't moving. Hopefully it goes Darnold, Barkley, Rosen. I was all Mayfield but starting to lean more Rosen in the last couple days. Darnold=Rogers, Mayfield=Drew Brees and Rosen=Manning Different types of QBs but all good.
Yeah, I always get the feeling that Mara hates the Jets and Woody and would be against anything that would benefit them. And he would love to stick it to them. Of course not at the expense his own team first. I don't know just bsing really. Like you said what could they possibly get for them to move out of that position in the drivers seat? I'm starting to think we're getting Rosen after Darnold and Allen go off the board.
Yeah... that's for sure. I'm really mourning the loss of those picks... I really didn't want to lose them. This just goes to show what a tough blow Cousins not wanting to play here for the rest of his career was. It's basically cost us a top 6 pick (really top 2 or 3 non-QB pick) and 3 2nd rounders including at least one high 2nd rounder and likely 2. I hope whichever guy we get goes on to completely kick ass.... that would now be the only way this ends well.
no we didn't You cant go wrong with any of these top 4 QBs in fact Allen and Mayfield had a better combine then Darnold and Rosen. Even the draft experts don't know who is going this is the deepest draft since 83 when Marino, Elway, Obrien, Eason, Kelly, Blackledge came off the board. After 4 it begins to drop off both Mason,falk, and Jackson have potential to be franchise guys but these guy become projects and become risky. The Jets cant go wrong with any of these guys while every draft pick is a risk the top 4 in this draft are as close to a sure thing as you can get.
I agree with this. Barkley is plug and play and gives them a great shot at a SB in the next year or two; no QB they take will unseat Eli at least this year, so I don't see them passing on Barkley, leaving Rosen to us, unless the Browns take him (not likely) in which case we take Darnold.
Id literally throw up if we draft Josh Allen, if Mac doesnt see how similar he is to our very Chris Hackenberg then that would be the straw that broke the camels back for me. He's great in shorts and a t-shirt and im sure great in the field room and interviews. But if Rosen or Mayfield isnt drafted that means im done as Jets fan for the season, because surely he and Bowles havent learned from any of their mistakes in the past. Josh Allen is Jake Locker meets Christian Hackenberg no accuracy prototypes that arent football players. Im heated i didnt want to trade up, i fully understand the reason but i cant seem to shake the feeling that we traded to get Josh Allen.
Seems like the Giants fans believe the Jets messed up the draft for Cleveland and now the Giants can take advantage. Giants trade back to 4. Cleveland takes Darnold/Barkley. Jets take Rosen. Giants take Nelson. Giants fans think Buffalo/Miami/Arizona are light years back and Uber premium players won’t be there. I’d take this.
