It’s the cost of doing business ... I do not understand your logic . We paid the price of 3 #2 picks to move up 3 spots ... pretty self explanatory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4 draft picks for a potential franchise QB It is the only justification and for any other type of trade we would be taking damage on this move
Yes and like I stated in another post the 2019 second round pick is an afterthought right now......the meat of the trade was this year's two second round picks.....that's the cost for moving up 3 spots in the first round and quite frankly if the Jets finally find their franchise quarterback it's peanuts... Don't get me wrong the Jets are losing two potential young starters...I get it. But I understand the importance of potentially ending this QB doldrum going on decades now really 2018 is not a win now year....I think most of us realize this rebuild is going into 2019
really, so what? Our recent 2nd round picks have been: Maye Hackenberg Smith Amaro the other smith, Geno Hill Ellis(not sean) Ducasse Really, tell me we fuckin should care about giving up 2nd round picks? We should have given up the next 10 years worth if we could have moved up to 1.
Actually, I'm not sure why I humored your comparison because you are comparing first round picks like they all have the same value, which is stupid as hell.
You're wrong. We paid the price of three 2s and one 1 for the 3rd overall pick. The semantic fallacy you are using is only to make you feel better about it.
Because we're going to look like morons when we pick a "can't miss" QB and our POS O-line puts him on IR and ends his career before it ever gets off the ground.
Don and everyone else the problem is NOT with actual picks its with the guy making those selections ! Just because our GM wasted those picks does not make them garbage , they could have selected quality players but again the people making the picks have a hard time evaluating talent !
We have had 3 different GMs making those picks and not one of them have improved on their predecessor. All we can go on is what they have done in the past but I agree to a point too. We have a chance to get a good QB but if this guy making that pick gets it wrong..well then, watch out, it won't be pretty.
It's a dumb move no matter what team is making it. You're just hoping this move lessens the percentage of stupidity, and that is not likely at all.
Don thats exactly what I meant the guys regardless of GM all have sucked ass when evaluating talent,,,Mac just happens to be the latest guy who has sucked ass
Another big factor in this is we could not have a better situation for this young QB ... sit behind McCown, along with walking the sidelines with Bridgewater. These 2 guys are great role models both on and off the field. The fact that this kid doesn't have to see the field and can sit and get a feel for the NFL game is so un Jet like. We rip the organization when they make their bone head moves, but this time I really think they did it right. They set up the kid to succeed...that's something they never did with Sanchez.
Sanchez had a good offensive line early on and they made a point of getting him receivers. The problem was that they threw him into the fire immediately and he wasn't ready. Then they neglected the Oline and receivers.
At least Mac gambled...We are not sitting around and we did not do a RG3 type trade and gave everything away
They kept letting guys walk and replacing them with lesser caliber players ... he had no continuity at the WR position and I think that hindered him . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
