A lot of what the Jets/Mac will be doing/saying and leaking to the press will be to discourage the Browns and Giants from taking the guy they want.
I’m really starting to think Mac is targeting Mayfield. It’s a shot in the dark whether Darnold or Rosen are at 3, Baker is extremely likely. Whoever the pick is we’ll only hear he was the top choice so we’ll probably never know the truth. Mac is right we won’t end up caring.
I still can't get over the Mayfield rumor. It just doesn't add up. If Rosen and Darnold get taken, the Jets must have been telling themselves Mayfield after seeing him at pro day. Who the hell knows though. Maybe they felt confident Rosen would be there at 3 or maybe they have felt confident in Allen since the combine. Hard to know, but we all know for sure that this is a QB move and it will be one of the 4 without question.
I think the Jets love Mayfield but also love Rosen and have perhaps heard that Rosen wants nothing to do with the shitbag Browns and the curmudgeonly Giants won't take him because he can be opinionated (who cares, we're talking about winning games here) all of a sudden they know he'll be there at 3. You have to jump to 3 and grab him then.
Foles is inconsistent, I don't think they win the Super Bowl with out Wentz but of course it's just opinion. We can never know. It opens up the debate then is a FQB even necessary. Vikes got close with a below avg QB, Jags too and if the Eagles could win the Super Bowl with a less than avg QB?
I think Miami and Arizona are SOL. The highest you can go in this draft is 3 and we got 3. We beat them out. The Browns need a franchise QB, Tyrod isn't the guy. They're sticking at 1 The Giants need a franchise QB, Eli is old. They're sticking at 2 Only the Colts were dealing and we got it done. Miami and Zona can burn up the lines calling the Giants and Cleveland. They ain't dealing.
The Giants might. We know Mac inquired about the #1 pick. I'm sure he also looked into the Giants pick. They may have said not dealing, or they may just have been asking more than Mac was willing to pay.
I looked at their websites, one of them posted something like this......"someone call 911, what's your emergency? A robbery just took place" I though it was very witty and telling of how bad a trade it is for jets.
Exactly. 75% love the trade, and when 25% hate it, the 75% all bemoan that the fan base can't be pleased, as if the fan base is just one big schizo fan who can't make up his mind.
Well the Giants might now since it would only drop them to 3 if we try to move in on it. I still don't think they would. It is possible the Jets still desperately want 1 of 2 guys and are afraid the Giants/Browns may take both off the board You have to at least call the Browns about 1. I'm sure Mac wasn't the only one but I just don't think they're budging. They really need that FQB
