Check every trade in the top 5 in the past 10 years, especially when a QB was involved and compare your PVC to what the actual cost are. The chart is meaningless!
Only one person has responeded to this and it was a fence riding reply. I don't see any supporter of a QB at #3 being able to sufficiently respond to this. Sanchez 2.0 is a horrible idea if Teddy is truly healthy. Barkley and Bridgewater (even at a steep contract) over the next 5 years sounds so much better.
It wasn't stupid. Bridgewater has potential future value with the team, as a backup or a starter, and the Jets get a cheap year with no future commitments to evaluate that. The cost is minimal. On the flip side, Bridgewater's healthy is too uncertain to depend on him. McCown is a familiar entity, isn't the huge risk Bridgewater is from a health perspective, and offers a lot of experience to share with a rookie QB. McCown is a true bridge for the team. He likely will retire at the end of this season. Ultimately, the Jets have done nothing to impair the future of this team with either signing.
I think Rosen is the target and going to # 1 would eliminate the Giants. Thing is the G-Men are taking Rosen IMO. Otherwise they would trade out of #2. True Barkley is in a class by himself but they could still land a great back or O-line later in the draft if they traded down. Eli is 37 years old and who knows when they would next be in position to draft a franchise guy. JMO but I see Baker as a full notch below Rosen as a prospect, so maybe Barkley is our consolation prize when the dust settles.
This is what I was thinking. Maybe Mac loves 2 QBs and if they are both gone we grab Barkley. It would be hugely unpopular but I would be down with it. 6 was a bad spot, atleast at 3 we have options.

Been convinced for months Mac is in love with Rosen. His opinion on Mayfield vs Allen is what I have no clue about and it’s concerning. Hopefully the Giants make it easy.

That's an absolute certainty. Mac left a free agent war room to go watch Mayfield. This "report" by Cimini about not thinking Mayfield is a top 3 guy is a lie and misdirection meant to discourage Cle/NYG from taking him. There are also reports that the Jets love Mayfield. Remember last year the stories about us loving Trubisky? Also misdirection
Adding Bridgewater was risk/reward signing and that's cool. We had nothing at QB. Signing McCown was beyond stupid. Its screams here comes another 5 wins or less season...yay! Here's the worst part they gave McCown 10 million.
They are not taking Jake Allen at 3. I don't think he'll be an NFL disaster or anything but you don't move to 3 for Allen. You move up to 3 for Mayfield/Rosen/Darnold
I respect mac this is the right move I just wish it was with the giants to guarantee Rosen or darnold , Mayfield and Allen scare me a bit
