Ebron is the most frustrating player. He looks like tarzan, plays like Jane. and he can't catch a friggin thing. He would drive us all crazy if he came here

Ebron is a huge underachiever but he's still only 24 and is worth a shot on a short term deal.

Ebron's upside is greater than ASJ's. At a comparable price, I'd go Ebron.

so lets see, we had Jace, then ASJ so I guess its only right we go to Ebron next ... I guess Richard Rodgers is next?

I'd love to give Eifert a shot. Loved him at ND.

It better be dirt cheap, because that guy can't block for shit. I'd rather overpay ASJ than pay anything more than 2.5m for Ebron.

Why would Detroit let him go? He's only 24. Their other TEs are a bunch of no-names. He's only had one season where he appeared in all 16 games (2017), but only started 9 of them. 2016 is the only year where he started every game he appeared in (13 games).

Has he a had a bunch of injuries? Is he a big time underachiever? Does he not have any desire to maximize his talent and/or be great? Is he content to coast and just get by? He's never come close to a thousand yard season, the most TDs he's had in a season is 5 in spite of having Stafford throwing to him.

I wouldn't pay him much. I don't want no stinking TE that's too big a pussy to block.

Neither is a prize in terms of health, but Claiborne is better. With what they'd have to pay him, he definitely isn't worth it.

    Claiborne has played six seasons.
In 2012 he started 15 of the 15 games he appeared in.
In 2103 he started 7 of the 10 games he appeared in.
In 2014 he started 3 of the 4 games he appeared in.
in 2015 he started 11 of the 11 games he appeared in
In 2016 he started 7 of the 7 games he appeared in.
In 2017 he started 15 of the 15 games he appeared in.

In 6 seasons, he has appeared in 62 out of 96 games, and started 58 of them (60.4%)

    Eifert has played five seasons.
In 2013 he started 15 of the 15 games he appeared in.
In 2014 he started 1 of the 1 games he appeared in.
In 2015 he started 12 of the 13 games he appeared in.
In 2016 he started 2 of the 8 games he appeared in.
In 2017 he started 1 of the 2 games he appeared in.

In 5 seasons, he has appeared in only 39 of 80 games, and only started 31 of them (48.75%). His health appears to be getting worse.

Yeah but injuries only matter when you don't like the player.

I'm of course worried about his game since the 2015 Pro Bowl, but, he'd be worth a shot in the dark. Will come cheap and probably will take a one year prove it deal. I don't see the downside in bringing him in. I hope they do.

What's the point? He's 31 and not the long-term answer at TE. He's only appeared in 10 games the last 2 years and only started 3 of those. He's not healthy. As far as I'm concerned, it would just be wasting a roster spot and money. I'd rather they give Sterling or another young tE a chance to develop. The Jets aren't going to the playoffs this season anyway.

I sometimes reminisce about great catches by Dustin Keller, shortly followed by confounding leaps over linebackers that resulted in injury and fumble.

    Thems were the days.
