If my memory is right, we played in Green Bay week 1 of the 1998 season, and it was a pretty entertaining game, with the Jets pulling off the win at the end. Everyone remembers 2002's game. I can't remember 1994's.
You're thinking of the 2000 season. The week 1 game in 98 was the shootout in SF with Hearst breaking a 90 yard run in OT to give them the win.
It was the first week of the 2000 season and we beat them. Those packers were better than these packers. I think we have a great chance. The packers have a losing record at home this year I believe. They just got beat 35-0 to the patriots. If we play good defense like we have the past few games I think we have no problem beating them.
Bring on the lousy weather. So be it. We took out the Pats in a mud filled, rain soaked game and the Jets are an outdoor cold weather team in their own right. The Meadowlands is also a pretty windy place as well. Weather will not be a factor for either team.
Before the season I would have hoped and prayed for Favre to be in there, since he had been so awful for a year or two before that. I definitely thought he was done, but he's actually had a more-than-respectable year this year. I would still give the Jets the edge, but it would be nice to have a running game that averaged more than 1 yard per carry (I do agree that the short passing game is less affected by the weather than if the Jets used a mid-to-long passing game).
I remember hearing his name a few times early in the year, but nothing the past 6-7 weeks though. We can get a good look at him tonight.
10 mph winds is nothing. 35 degrees will be fine, it's not even below freezing, and the jets are used to colder temps anyway. And don't worry about the run game, they will excel.
Very cool. He was actually one of the guys I wanted over D'Brick. I'm not afraid to say I was wrong. He may be good, but Brick has been awesome. Isn't it funny that of this crazy talent class this year, Reggie Bush has probably had the least impact on his team (with the exception of that tight end, what was his name?) Overall, this was a pretty amazing first round top to bottom.
Hawk is having a solid year. 82 tackles going into tonights game. 9th in the NFL through last week. Damn solid for a rookie. He would have been a great addition to the Jets, but was not a needed pick.
If we can't beat Green Bay regardless of the circumstances, we do not deserve to make it to the playoffs. Either way, a stress free mental state this week; feels good.
I believe that you predicted 100+ yards for Washington and 75+ yards for Houston in yesterday's game, so forgive me if I'm still concerned about the anemic running attack.
Im a big buckeye fan and I have the nfl ticket so when I get a chance Ive been flipping around...the first 5 games or so he was invisible which is understandable, lately hes been starting to play well and grab a couple sacks.
i like the cold -- football shoul dbe played in the cold! 20's in green bay -- no snow though -- i don't like snow and rain impacting a game long long range projections for the jets/buffalo game - 4:15 start 30 degrees will feel like 15 -- 10 mph winds --- accuweather.com if you are asking where that came from
Guess you mean Vernon Davis, yeah useless... Although Reggie himself hasn't done a sick job, I think the Saints are having a bounceback year partially due to the excitement of drafting Reggie Bush. I still, however, think we made the right move. We got a glimpse yesterday of the possibilities with a weak O-line.
