I don't think it would be Jackson. His style of play is very different from McCown's and Teddy's, and unless they're gonna try to force him to play strictly as a pocket passer (which would be typical of the Jets), that would make no sense. I think Jackson would need a different offense in order to flourish.

So why would the Jets let this leak out if in fact they still want to sign Bridgewater who we are told has other options?

They wouldn't prohibit the Jets from drafting a QB high in the first round. That would be solely Mac. If that happens, he should be fired immediately following the draft regardless of what he has done in FA and the draft otherwise.

At that rate what is the point of signing Teddy?

    b) They've finally come to the conclusion that Hack is a hack

I doubt that. I doubt that Teddy would sign with the Jets unless he was guaranteed to start or at least have a fair chance to compete. It would be sooooooo Bowles to start McCown and have Teddy back him up.

And the Jets tell McCown he is the starter..no camp, no competition, no matter who they sign or draft he is the starter...and people wonder why the Jets suck so bad.

To make it worse, Maccagnan informed McCown he will start. If true, it’s because they’re drafting a QB and want him to get acclimated. Maccagnan and Bowles won’t survive the year the way they’re going

The one thing to wonder, if the Jets do also take on Bridgewater, do they take another QB in the draft and have 4 on the roster. IDK, but that experiment had already been attempted with failed results. Some one is the odd man out.

I find it extremely hard to believe that McCown has been told he's the starter.

WHY would he be told this? Because he's threatening to go start somewhere else? This makes zero sense and I don't believe it for a second.

Very true..I just threw out two project type QBs off the top off my head...I don't see them drafting a QB at 6 if both Bridgewater and McCown ar signed.

It’s one year!! 1/9th of our available cap space. I can’t find it in me to get my panties in a bunch over this.

I seriously doubt that happened..... It makes no sense to do that from our prospective
