I’m all for it.. bring back joshy josh and take a QB.. talking head on CMB is saying Giants don’t like these QB’s so maybe we can get one!! But whoever we get, I hope he’s a real QB.. not one of these game manager need everything right type of guys
I feel pretty indifferent toward this signing. There's a lot of questions to be raised about his health and the fact that by the time the season starts it'll be 2+ years before he's taken meaningful snaps. He's a better option than McCown for the simple fact that he's over 10 years younger, so if he plays well, he could still be our long-term QB or great trade value if whoever we draft ends up being the guy.
He'll have made a career total of $130 million in three years, and will be a 32-year-old free agent. Imagine if he plays well in the next three years - he might just be going to be the quarter-billion dollar man.
Count me a fan of this move. If Bridgewater isn't the same as he used to be, no harm done. We can still draft a QB and even trade up for one. But if he can somehow live up to his potential we can get a young franchise QB on the cheap.
I haven't seen anything saying he has signed....I've seen it stated working on a deal. The McCown deal was posted immediately after they said they were working on it.
So the Jets signed McCown already before a deal with Teddy is done. I really hope they still intend to draft a guy, but will they keep 4 QBs on the roster? I guess it's possible, or that Hack gets the boot.
I like a Bridgewater signing because: 1.He has the potential to be the long term answer. 2. Signing him does not prevent us from drafting a QB if the FO thinks there is value at 6 or in round 2.. 3. He should not require a long term commitment or Cousins like salary. 4. We can still resign McCown but they might put that decision off until after the draft. Edit: Seeing a post that we have already resigned McCown. If true even better. I just hope both deals are reasonable. 5. He fits our system. I am happier with a Bridgewater signing over Cousins as he has greater upside and gives us a lot more flexibility in cap and in drafting a young QB.
Interesting move if they’ve get Teddy too. I wouldn’t be upset to grab a DE orOL with the 6th pick but trade their 6th pick the get another 2nd or 3rd round pick.
weird to get bridgewater and josh - assuming we get bridgewater - no issue with the signing - i think we will still draft a QB at #6
The Jets are taking a QB of the future in round 1. How does McCown + Bridgewater change any of that? Bridgewater has no nfl future he showed no flashes of being anything other than a highly coddled game manager with a dumbled down playbook dinking and dunking all day. You think ANY team ever projected him as a qb of the future?
Until I see it official, I get the feeling that the McCown signing will screw up the Bridgewater signing. Just a gut feeling.
if the mccown/bwater combo does come to fruition, the jets will lose some leverage in any trades involving their pick 6 cause every other team knows they HAVE to draft a QB this year.
Tell me this isn't an SOJ situation with Bridgewater and this NONSENSE of McCown being the starter. Get Teddy inked up quit delaying!!!
0 potential. 20 wonderlic and 50 something qb rating his first few years. Weak arm. Checkdowns and little else
