I'm just asking you to be realistic about it, that's all. In no way, shape or form is Teddy on the upswing.

If they signed Cousins you would've said the same exact thing. SMH

The idle threats of people giving up and quitting are getting old. I wish one of you Mary's, just one, would live up to it.

I agree 100% Even if he came back as the same Teddy he was a Mark Sanchez esque game manager. Go back and read some articles from 2015, he was expected to hand the ball to AP and make a throw when he had to against a stacked box.

Yes, and he practiced a good part of last year and got mop up duty in one game at least. If he couldn't play he would have still been on the PUP. Still, nobody knows how much mobility he may have left. Just have to hope the deal is structured so we have a cheap out after one year.

That's because the Vikings ran a ball controlled offense and played great defense. It was the same as the Jets of the past, but Teddy is a far better quarterback then Mark Sanchez.

How was he gonna beat him out? They signed Dalton to a big-money contract a few years back and it would have been an insane cap hit to get rid of him and $20 million QB's don't get benched unless they're a total dumpster fire. They could have gotten out of Dalton's contract this offseason and given McCarron the job then but he won his FA in a grievance. And AP wasn't over the hill in 2015 when Bridgewater played. All the Vikings did was run a super conservative offense with Bridgewater, that doesn't impress me. Like someone else said he was basically asked to be Mark Sanchez.

Also McCarron would have actually won a playoff game for the Bengals (something nobody's done since Boomer) if Vontaze Burfict wasn't such a stupid piece of rat shit.

I just can't seem to figure out why you're so high on all the Louisville QBs...

Even when Keenum was having a very good year, they still wanted to start Bridgewater. It took Keenum playing his ass off to keep him off the field. Not saying Bridgewater is amazing, but what the hell is your goal for next year? Win a soup? With who? You think Cousin could've done it? Come on, man. As long as Bridgewater is here to bridge the gap for our rookie QB, then what the hell is the problem? Who cares if you think he's a game manager.

Great point. Cousins must know something we do not. My guess is he sees that roster and thinks he is the final piece...and will somehow be worth even more in 3 years.

Truthfully...not buying it. Would I have liked the Jets to get him? If you were dying of thirst on a deserted Island would you drink ocean water? Being a Jet fan..sometimes you lose the right for common sense. The loser in me would have said what the hell...the smart thing to do is not throw that kind of money at a qb with his resume.

He is being paid superstar money. How many superstar qb's became winners in their 30's. I'm sure we can throw out a few names...I say roll the dice with a kid and find a way to move up several slots...and that's what I belive Mac will do.

Isn't that the sad fact....we are borderline able to attract FA let alone a QB that was almost a cripple.

I get that part just trying to remain optimistic about this i looked at the positives and negatives of this and if he comes back healthy we just stole a 1st round QB from a contender. If he cant come back then I'm almost sure the contract has clauses in it that would effect the amount of money he gets from us. The kid is 25 and from a cost stand point is probably going to come in cheaper for options that i don't think are good at all. Bradford gets hurts wayy more than Teddy and McCarron and Glennon aren't good in my opinion. Keenum has already signed for 20+ , Tyrod traded to the Browns. There are no other QBs available right now, and if we didn't sign anyone everyone would be screaming for us to do something.

Luck of the draw I guess? Teddy was a great player in college, and IMO I think he was on the verge of breaking out before he got hurt. LJ is just a beast in his own right.

I try and scout the player and not the school (except if you play in the big 12).

On top of being the last piece to the puzzle there, the tax ramifications alone made his decision very easy to make. He owns a home in Michigan, and Minnesota has a deal with Michigan to forgive state taxes to those working in Minnesota. In NY, he would have gotten hammered in taxes.

He's going to pay Michigan taxes under that deal, right?

I assume the deal is to prevent him paying Minnesota taxes and then deducting that amount from his Michigan taxes?

I have to look it up. My father in law lives in Michigan and works in Minnesota, I thought it was both sides.

Residents of reciprocal states working in Michigan, do not have to pay Michigan tax on their salaries or wages earned in Michigan. The following states have a reciprocal agreement with Michigan: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

By being better lol, u think guys are ok with losing. Daltons been the most scrutinized QB in the league, some contract wasn't going to keep him off the field if McCarron was truly better. He's not better thats clear thats why he still hasn't been signed and remains the last one out of this QB musical chairs. What exactly have u seen from that really tells u otherwise? I know he's 6'4 and white but i mean thats pretty much it. Never was a baller in college and i didn't do much in his time on the field the past 4 years. Only thing ' done was almost win a playoff game and that Bengals team was loaded with talent so i'm not surprised they made the playoffs with their QB play that year.
