If the Jets sign Teddy, still would like a QB @ 6 given the circumstance. Even resign McCown too. Teddy, McCown and a Rookie is a good depth chart. I've come to realization, Mac isn't going to look at Lamar Jackson, doesn't fit what he wants. Even though he has excellent upside, he's not Mac's type of QB. I would've hoped he searched every avenue, but I feel as if he only look at 4 of the rookie QBs and maybe 1 or 2 FA QBs.
Totally agree. I don't mind missing out on Cousins as long as they don't over-spend bringing in Teddy or someone else to pair with McCown. If they fill in holes and still have plenty left over to spend next year it's not such a bad thing "IF" they hold onto their draft picks and don't trade them away for vets because they missed on on top FA's. That's a triple whammy, lose top FA's, lose draft picks and trade for aged over-rated players that won't be around when this team finally turns it around for their new HC.
With all things considered, would taking Barkley at 6 and trading back into first round for Lamar Jackson be a decent outcome?
If they sign Teddy, I find it hard to believe that these guys will look at a QB with the 6th pick, they will pick up Minka Fitzpatrick or Chubb bank on it.
It will be fucking outrage to the tenth degree if that happens. Don't be surprised if the facility burns down.
So because we didn't sign cousins all of a sudden our season is over? relax, have a drink, settle down.
Mac has a philosophy, we have seen it unfold before our very eyes, he's not going to change it now. If they sign Teddy, Bowles is happy because he has a veteran QB that he can install as his starter and Mac will go with BPA. The only risk he took as GM and it was not too much of a risk was Hack with the second round.
This is ALL hypothetical bullshit..... including all these scenarios that people are freaking out over because they havent gone how they've hoped. He asked a question, and if that scenario happened to present itself, it would be great for the JETS imo.... but personally, I think he'll be in cleveand.
Teddy is going to probably come here on a 1 to 2 year deal. Not taking a QB at 6 is far too much of a gamble. I would feel better if we got Chubb though.
