So its hitting the fan. You can deny it all you want, but we are in trouble. What do you want to see over the next few days with the players that are left in free agency?
I would like to see us somehow spend the minimum cap because at this rate who the fuck wants to sign with us.
I don't know the QB options in next years draft, but I doubt they will be good as these QB's in this draft. We have to do whatever it takes to get the #1 guy on their draft board. Rosen or Mayfield no matter what.
There’s no minimum on a per year basis. It’s a 4 year rolling floor. We can technically roll over all of this space into next year if we want to.
Not sure but if i were to guess it would be $20-$30 million. Resign our players, sign a few jags and focus on the draft. I assume McCown will probably come back.
free agency is a tough, unforgiving games sometimes. i'm sure some of these contracts will look awful within a year. you always pay a significant premium for talent this early in free agency. this sucks right now, for sure, but i'm not SUPER concerned. we can absolutely still add talent through free agency with value deals and if we get a QB in the draft, everything should be ok. just because we have an insane amount of money does not need we have to spend it all with reckless abandon
It's not panic time yet. It was never likely Cousins, Robinson, Norwell or probably even Watkins were signing here. Was Keenum even a desirable option?? It's a bummer to likely miss Burton if ASJ signs with Seattle and I did want Richburg too. But there is still Ryan Jensen and maybe others along with a very strong draft for the C position. It's too early. Let's see if they sign Teddy and get at least one big CB (two if Claiborne is gone) and lock up Demario Davis or a viable replacement if not him (preference is Davis). I'm putting off being pissed for now.
Value players aren't getting us back to the playoffs, I'm sorry. High Risk = High Reward. We can't sit here twiddling our thumbs.
Some new GM and coach will be walking into some serious cap space and a top 5 pick again next year. If they hit on few draft picks this year, could be an attractive job next year for the new regime.
value players are what help you win super bowls with sustain success. overpaying for contracts results in the jets 2009-2010 run where they would great for two years and then it all went to shit
I'm not mad at not being appealing for FAs. I'm mad the FA selection is horrendous. Not spending the money this year may be a good thing for 2019 free agency.
Unbelievably underwhelmed by Bridgewater. You know my thoughts on Jackson and I'd rather have Jackson than Teddy.
