the problem is, no matter who we get, you'll feel the same way in 2-3 years

Consider everyone starting from a new playbook. Keenum does well in WCO

I like Teddy less than Allen.

Keenum is one of the worst possible options. He’s had one good year riding the coattails of a ridiculously well-rounded and solid offense and will command true starter money. If you want a one year holdover go with the guy that already knows the staff, the team and will cost half as much.

what version of Keenum are you exactly getting? I would def like to take a chance on Teddy. Still young and has upside.

Keenum did well last year with the Vikings under Fritz Shurmur. Would he do equally well (or anything even remotely close) with Bowles, Bates, and a whole lot less talent around him? No.

Sorry you don't like Teddy. We'll just have to disagree on this one.

  7. Fair point.I'll rephrase my original premise: I hope they leave SOME cap funds in order for the new regime to bring in some of "their" guys & to fill some immediate holes.

I don’t see the difference between Bridgewater and a healthy rookie.

Maybe not but I think that applies to the guy coming from the same system too.

Other than Bridgewater having a 1+ year track record in the NFL, no difference. ;)

    So does Hackenberg.

    Bridgewater hasn’t done shit.

Fair point. It could, but I really liked Teddy in college and wanted the Jets to draft him in 2014. I never liked Keenum. Big difference for me, but I understand that doesn't apply to others opinions.

49ers, Colts and Giants front runners for Norwell. No mention of the Jets... Big need, best FA, most cap space... No interest?

Hasn't done shit is a little strong IMO. More like hasn't been great so far. As for Hack, he hasn't taken a meaningful snap in the NFL as of now.

Well, Teddy has several years experience and isn't a complete unknown. In addition, I'd like both Teddy and a healthy rookie. It would double the chances of the Jets finding a long-term answer at QB. Teddy would be a good bridge to the rookie. Teddy would also be insurance in case the rookie didn't develop. If the rookie did develop, the Jets could potentially trade Teddy for at least a #3 pick and possibly higher depending upon how he played, or hold onto both for a year or so. One can't have too many good QBs.

He's made plays at the NFL level. That's a pretty big difference.

Bills and Browns are making moves... They both knew they weren’t going to land Cousins and now are making big decisions for their future. Unfortunately it completely messes with our future if we don’t land Cousins.

It’s obvious the Bills are in love with a QB in the draft. They are pulling a Philly move (when they drafted Wentz they moved up twice) moving up the latter to get a shot at #2 overall. Sitting with #12 + #22 they will need to add a 2019 1st + 2018 2nd to get from #12 to #2 overall. They don’t move up today without trying to get #2 overall. With adding Tyrod it’s obvious Browns will take Barkley #1 and then take at #4 Allen/Mayfield/Darnold to sit a learn for a year.

So not only will the Bills and Browns add the top QB talent in the draft (hopefully not FFS) but the Giants would walk away with a kings ransom as well.

Landing Cousins is our best option at this point.

We really have to factor in Maccagnan’s career here. He’s not going to bank his career on a guy who has under 10 NFL starts and substantial injuries.

I’m not trying to be condescending but a rookie has less of a question mark in my mind than Teddy.

If we are going injury prone route, I’d much rather consider Bradford.

If Mac signs any free agent other than Cousins, he needs to grab a QB with our first rounder. Having said that, I'd rather go with Bridgewater than Bradford because Bridgewater has more potential, and his injury may have been a freak accident. Whereas Bradford gets hurt all the time.
