Jay,,,,,,yes timing is key but it appears it is getting going too late for us to get hammered but 3-6 give more or take of wet heavy snow could happen,,,but agree NE gets destroyed thats if it stays as advertised..ps at night time with no sun will help accumulations,,,.track still a question this could come more West its still up in the air ,,2-4 or 3-6 or more wet heavy snow could be an issue with the ground being soaked already here and people still without power, thanks Jayster keep em coming

Cant look back now....but believe STAFFJET made a great point that this is now a MILLER B storm....and there lies the problem for snow lovers....if I had a nickel for everytime a Miller B storm was borderline forming off the Jersey coast and counting on THAT for bigger snows....its a crapshoot. The reason that the last Miller B had so much success is that the merge came much farther south. Crazy thing is we are in for rains on Monday down here in Wilmington...but by the time this low pressure and the one heading in from south of the Great Lakes feed of each other...it becomes a New England storm.

Again, this would not shock me in the least to see the coast of N.J. and parts of L.I. get big numbers...not at all. Spreading west from there is something that will be difficult with this setup. In fact would bet on those areas getting much higher QPF numbers...their question is does it translate to snow...or a huge mushy mess.

Jay I feel like Long Island is due. I know, trends, tends, but this one has me worried. What say you? We closed school last week, partly because of what you told me. They think I'm smart, but I just tell them what you tell me....

Im not sure what Jay or Fjay would say but unless this thing shrifts way west at the last minute the only people that appear to have any shot at this are Eastern LI and New England.Every storm this year has shifted West at the last minute so take that for what its worth .

Whats the latest on this thing for North Jersey? I keep reading that it has tracked significantly east over the last 12 hours but the major weather outlets seem to be sticking to their guns at 2-4/3-6.

That’s what I would think too. Snow is going to stretch pretty far on the backside of this so you should see 3-6

FM...eastern L.I. is a major watch spot...and as you go from EAST TO WEST it diminishes...still...really have to check the short range models early this afternoon. Just because Western L.I. is in the diminish spot, doesn't mean its all clear. Really close call.

That was a lucky guess for you...I thought the reports I saw were high compared to surrounding areas. Hope you stay out of the bigger stuff tonight/tomorrow bud!

Everything is showing that amount..and for the record...thing it will be on the lower side for most of North Jersey.

Thanks Jay. So all clear means no snow or just an inch or two?

Just looked at the models jon...and I'm telling you..you are on the border of heavy banding and a shift just 20 to 30 miles west and you are in for the top number instead of 4. Shift to the east 20 to 30 and you end up at 3 or 4.

Eastern CT/R.I. central and eastern MA...man...someone is ending up with 2 feet or more up there. Incredible storm..again.

EDIT..sometime tonight for you...just looking at the radar will tell the story...a heavy..and I mean HEAVY band of snow will setup somewhere in CT traveling north through MA....on a southwest to northeast angle..and in the band, some 40 to 80 miles wide...it will be insane rates of snow..with heavy winds.
